Cosmic Joe
4-0. The wee guy Pingu is running the show. Not that he's having to do much running. Patrolling the centre-circle
welshbairn
Must be weird for Broughty players, checking the scores every few days to see if they're champions and no games to play. Six more Dundee North End matches to go, and they have to win every one. Edited April 24 by welshbairn

Kirrie away was tough, and Tayport tonight could have been a stumbling block..

I've got a daft image of the Broughty players sitting around a Benidorm bar waiting for a phone call when they're probably pushing a kid round Tesco.

invergowrie arab
North End are winning this. Playing against ordinary teams who have nothing to play for in the double figures months.
Cosmic Joe
I've taken in the last two North End games. They are decent middle to front, but a wee bit vulnerable at the back. St James away will probably now be their main threat. But aye, most other teams are in close season mode.
Cosmic Joe
I won the second prize in the 50 -50 half-time draw. A fiver! First prize was a tenner. Four pounds well invested.

ExiledLichtie
Is this league ever going to end? Doesnt it have to finish by a certain date to take account of hypothetical playoffs?

It seems a bit long tbf... The league have done well to get it this far considering some teams in other leagues haven't managed to play 20 league games yet. Maybe they should consider having a 10/10 split after 19 games then playing the return 9 fixtures against teams their group for 28 games. I'm sure there will be a cup they can bring out of retirement or something to make up for the shorter league sesson

At the split some would have played 10 home and 9 away or 9 home and 10 away , even with a seeding system as the Premiership has some teams would end up with 2 visits to some teams with no home games against that team. Then there is getting to the split in time, this would need to happen in December or January or have a gap of around 2 or 3 weeks to play postponed games for sides in the mix for a top or bottom half finish.

Yeah it would be a nightmare to schedule. If there was a league close enough geographically and how well the clubs seem to work together, it’s this league that could manage it

This season, yes. But if DNE/Broughty had licenses, we could have had all kinds of problems. What's to say we won't have similar problems next year?

Getting the champion to game 38 before the start of May is not going to be problem.
