Richey Edwards
Bielefeld is a city that I have a lot of love for. I spent part of my childhood living there, as my dad was in the army and there was a British Army barracks just three streets away from where I lived. This is the house I used to live in, and I have many fond memories of living there. I would recommend visiting Bielefeld if you get the chance. The football club currently competes in the Bundesliga - having won the 2. Bundesliga title in 19/20. This is where our story begins. Richey Edwards
PART 1: I had already started the season before I decided to do a thread. So, apologies. This post shall summarise what has happened so far. The board expectations for the season are as follows: - fight bravely against relegation from the Bundesliga. - reach the third round of the DFB-pokal. The club culture dictates that I should sign players aged under 23 for the first team. Current Squad: Transfers: There are a lot of players already in on loan at the start of the game. Urretaviscaya was my "BIG" signing - who could yet become a source of regret - while Adams, Guenouche and Turkmen come in to boost numbers in the squad. Tactics: I have settled on a 4231 formation. The other two tactics are just experimental variations of a 4231. Results: The 5-1 mauling in the opening day was due to a misguided attempt to play a 442. The 4231 was adopted after this. October presented a challenging set of fixtures, so I was pleased to only lose one of those games and get a win and two draws! Richey Edwards
Just now, Barry Ferguson's Hat said: Bielefeld doesn't exist m9. I see what you did there. BTW did you see that someone offered a million euros to anyone who can prove that Bielefeld doesn't exist?
Richey Edwards
December 2020: Three good wins, but I got totally FM'd in that Schalke game as Schalke scored twice in the space of a minute to take it from 3-1 to me to 3-3 before grabbing a winner. The disappointing big money signing Viscaya (that's his nickname now) finally got his first goals for the club in that match with a double.
Richey Edwards
Sorry for the radio silence. I have been busy with work. January 2021: Results: Yeah, let's not talk about this month. Not a very good one. Transfers: In - Out - Money still very tight, so the players I brought in aren't world beaters. Richey Edwards
February 2021: Results: League table: I was under serious pressure going into the Koln game as I was in the relegation playoff spot and hadn't won in ten games. It was heart attack material. Look at what happened!
Richey Edwards
March 2021 A month which presents a relegation clash against Union Berlin (because our winless run had sucked us towards the relegation zone) and two difficult games against Bayer Leverkusen and Redbull Leipzig.I would have been happy with 3 points from 9 here. How did we get on? Results: BOOM! Four wins on the spin! League table: Those four wins in a row have fired us up to 10th in the table. We are officially closer to the Euro Cup places than the relegation playoff places.

Richey Edwards
Season 2: August-December 2021 League table: Safe to say that things haven't gone exactly to plan. My 4231 seemed to stop working, which was resulted in some heavy defeats there. I have now gone to a 4-3-3.
Richey Edwards
JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2022 Results: League table: On the verge of the sack, as I have had three meetings regarding my future in recent weeks. Frankfurt want me to be their manager though, so that's an option.
Richey Edwards
It's Bye Bye Bundesliga as season 2 ends in relegation. Inexplicably, I did not get sacked for that.
Richey Edwards
After a poor start to the .2 Bundesliga campaign, I have decided to resign from Arminia Bielefeld. To be honest, I hadn't enjoyed the past season as no tactical changes I tried seemed to work. Let's see where I end up now.

Richey Edwards
Not bad for my first game in charge. I noticed that my squad was very short on quality in the middle of the park, with all midfielders being rated no higher than 2.5 stars. Adam May and Matty Palmer were purchased from Cambridge and Swindon respectively, and Tyler Smith joined from Wycombe to provide some more quality up front. My new signings made an immediate impact with Smith scoring a double and May also scoring in this win.
Richey Edwards
Just call me Relegation Man, because I got Kalsruher relegated as well. I resigned at the end of the season, and have returned to Scotland to take up a new job. TRANSFERS
LoonsYouthTeam
Now as much as I don't want you to have another relegation, the thought of the P&B meltdowns if it were to happen means a small part of me does want it

It's sods law that as soon as I start a thread, I get two relegations in three seasons! The story of the 2023/24 season so far: My current tactic - which appears to be working pretty well.
