Anyone else feeling emotional about this?

I watched the Serbia game on ma todd and had a wee greet efter Marshall saved that penalty. My first Scotland memories are Italia 90 as well so hearing Nessun Dorma before the Italy game got me a bit emotional but, again, was on ma todd.

Watching the game with ma mates today so dunno if that'll make me better or worse.

100% with your mates. When we win,, you’ll talk about it for the rest of your days.

Driving home there from dropping the kids off and listening to that Long Time Coming song and there were tears streaming down my face. No hyperventilating or shit like that, but real tears nevertheless. I disapprove of such things normally.

what a day. Just hope we play well but I genuinely believe Clarke is not one to shit the bed.

Been to loads of qualifiers, Italy 90, France 98 - cant quite believe that its taken us this long.................feels slightly weird that we are hosting a match, and the same guys are not all there together.

Also - maybe just me - feels bizarre to be in a tourney that isnt "all in one country" - I prefer the mayhem of all fans together, staying in campsites in the middle of France, shithole brothel style hotels for a night in Bordeaux / St Etienne..............

Will be fine at ko - couple of beers et

Was out walking to the shops this morning, seeing a few flags and kids wearing Scotland shirts to school etc. Starting to really sink in that it's happening.

I'm 25 so have no recollection of 1998, but have grown up hearing all about it, looking at my Dad's photos from Paris and then reading folks stories on here about running home from school, going to parties/pubs and how the whole country came to a standstill for the Brazil game. Being out this morning was the first time i realised that this is my generation's version of that, something i've imagined and thought about for years but never quite thought would happen. Having tortured myself with the ordeal of going to the games for years, witnessing an ungodly amount of shite, i'll probably find it hard not to get emotional hearing the anthem at a major tournament for the first time.

I’ll be a blubbering wreck by the time 2pm comes round. Just went for a walk to clear my head and couldn’t stop thinking about the game, the last 23 years, the folk who have come and gone in that time and everything else in between. Bloody hell.

Absolutely. Not helping by constantly watching YouTube vids.

I honestly think my first memory is of the tickertape falling at the 78 world Cup final. Unfortunately don't remember wee archie but I do remember just thinking that this looked amazing.

Through Spain 82 - that toepoke from big Narey and us scoring 5 in a game at the World Cup finals!

Mexico 86 - not great.

Italia 90 - big Pavarotti, the disaster of Costa Rica, Stuart McCall and fans kissing policewomen

Euros 96 - missed penalty, some eejit claiming he'd moved the ball and gazza breaking our hearts.

France 98 - being the centre of the world and kicking the whole thing off against Ronaldo and co and the humping from Morocco.

I, like everyone else, just assumed we always qualified. Never did I imagine we'd have to wait this long to see it.

Will I be emotional? Absolutely- this feeling where ridiculous rivalries are put aside and the WHOLE country comes together to cheer on the lads is like nothing else.

If this is your first time experiencing this then make it count - watch with your nearest and dearest. Cheer like never before. And maybe, just maybe, this is our time.

Glasgow is absolutely buzzing now (cliche alert). Had a couple of beers then heading to McNeill's, our traditional pre-match haunt.

Got a 1 - 1.30pm slot.

Will be bubbling like a bairn when the teams come out.
