funky monkey
Troon 2 Kilwinning 2 Great entertainment at Portland Park yesterday. Buffs goals from Ramsay and Collins. Buffs looking more like themselves albeit still a good few injured and missing players. Troon have certainly improved since we met them earlier im the season. Ultimately a draw was probably a fair outcome. Portland Park looked good in the sun, the pitch in excellent condition. Some feisty tackles on the park and great banter with the Troon bench. Away to Darvel next.

funky monkey
Buffs 1 Talbot 0 Excellent win for Buffs today. A Ricky Hanvey penalty was enough to win it in a hard fought game in front of a decent crowd. Keeps the league alive for a few teams. Onwards and upwards for Buffs. Merry Christmas to Buffs fans everywhere and to all on this board.

I agree, thought the ref was decent considering the constant appeals from both sides.Every Kilwinning player was superb today - special mention to Ricky Hanvey who has been a loyal servant to the club, scored the winning goal and was a great example to every one of his teammates today.Hopefully the result keeps the league interesting for a while yet.
who ate all the pies
Poor game for both teams IMO not much entertainment , I could have played in goals for either team and not been beaten ( even went the right way for the penalty) but it’s onwards and upwards they can’t all be decent to watch

funky monkey
Glenafton 1 Buffs 2 Buffs built upon our win over Talbot with a comfortable victory at New Cumnock today. A first half header from Ramsay and an early second half counter from Collins had Buffs on easy street. Buffs took their foot off the gas and Glens scored a good headed goal with 15 to go. Glens created one more good chance and nearly snatched an undeserved draw. A good win for the Buffs at a venue where we generally struggle. No real standouts today, just an overall good team performance all over the park. Up next Bonnyton Thistle at Buffs Park next Saturday. -

Adam was never likely to play for us this season. Smith has injury problems that'll will need resolved and Anderson wasn't seeing much game time. All of these boys move on with the clubs thanks. New players will join the club. All part of football these days. We've a great core of players at the club that Strain will build the team around, all at a good age.
parkcircus
Clubs aren’t selling, we’ve had interest/offers rejected from 9 clubs for players. We have had some pre contract agreements put in place which is good.

Brother Grimm
The pre-contract thing isn't really worth anything, there has been a few players over the years 'signed' them and then went back on it. This was the most high profile one. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/23083594

So there was a consequence.
funky monkey
Buffs 3 Glens 0 First half was played in rain snd wind, nothing much happened as both sides struggled with the conditions. Second half the weather eased a bit and allowed a better game. Buffs took the lead with towering header from David Syme. Ally McColm and Jordan Stuart were introduced from the bench and allowed Buffs to take control. McColm scored a wonderful solo goal ghosting past 2 Glens players before beating the keeper with a shot from the edge of the box. The third followed shortly after, an excellent through ball from Stuart found Thomas Collins who calmly slotted the ball under the keeper. The celebration one to enjoy in front of the Buffs fans. Onwards abd upwards for Buffs. A day to forget for Glens. Largs at Barrfields up next.
glensmad
Hard to disagree, a day to forget for us but it was a bit of a free hit for us anyway. It's all about staying out of the bottom seven for us, that would be a big achievement given the financial resources we have relative to other clubs in the league.I was very impressed by Buffs Park. [emoji106] That was our first visit as a WoSFL club, in fact our only previous visit was on the last ever day of West Region SJFA matches. I remember Colin and Danny telling us all about the plans that afternoon and it was great to see a lot of it done on our return. The pitch was in great nick as well, given the horrendous weather.
