kingjoey
Lee Johnson is really coming across as being pretty dense. Just watched an interview with him on STV News and he is behind the VAR system because a poor decision can cost a manager his job.

Stylish Kid
Well, the first VAR decision appears to have been a booking for diving for Martin Boyle. I'm sold on it now

I doubt he was sent off for simply 'approaching' the ref. A ref getting a decision wrong doesn't give a player or manager the right to abuse a ref. Or maybe it should, provided the ref can abuse players and managers for getting things wrong. Missed an open goal? Yellow card. Manager makes the wrong sub? Both the manager and sub are sent off. Defender is snoozing and loses their man? Penalty against the defender's team. 2 hours ago, Drew Brees said: There’s no been a penalty in a Celtic game since April, 22 games, for or against, the SPFL average is 1 in 4 games, looking forward to a few tomorrow. Not sure of the relevance of the average across the leagues. Would have thought each league has their own average? That would be a more valid comparison surely? -

Steve McQueen
Weird that every goal is checked regardless of any doubt. Or maybe just took longer than normal 1st game

Worked well tonight, spotting Boyle diving trying to win a pen and Porteous attempt to win a foul when you scored, VAR ruling minimal contact. May well have got Boyle's legit foul for his penalty dismissed for an offside in the build up play too, although the lino flagged offside it wouldn't be the first time Clancy has ignored the lino and went with his own decision, and he had pointed to the spot giving Hibs a pen before VAR confirmed the offside. I'll get back to you on whether i'm completely won over on it after we play Sevco at Ibrox Tomorrow.
craigkillie
Every single one of those decisions you described was already awarded by the on-field officials, so it's not really a sign of VAR doing anything other than existing.

craigkillie
But the outcome would have been identical had it not been in place.
Jim McLean's Ghost
I don't think the hibs player is offside and I don't think the picture is conclusive. And clearly not the correct frame for when the ball leaves the foot unless it is the weirdest pass ever.
