Portfclad
Seen on Cambuslang Twitter that the games been called off due to a covid outbreak in the away side. Thats funny cos a don’t believe any of them have covid at this time. No mention any names but a couple players who live in Greenock next to me saying there struggling for a team and some of them are at a wedding tonight. Can they prove that there are players who tested positive and does this mean that their game next weekend will be called off too? Be a lot of boys isolating then and there won’t be anyone at training for the rest of the week ? Seen quite a few teams before cancel due to covid and yet the week after they’ll have a full squad at training. Don’t think it’s fair on other teams. Questions to be asked surely.

They have to provide proof that at least 7 players have tested positive or have been told to isolate.

And the proof that they provide has to be pcr results I’m assuming by email as it’s easy to copy and paste a text message and change the name and date of birth on it. pretty poor to be honest. Not just them but other teams too. Would like to see cambuslang challenge this and ask Greenock for the evidence. Spoke to another player from the team last night down Greenock and he was saying that there will be training as usual during the week and should have a full team there. He also confirmed they were definitely short on numbers and missing a few of there starting players (not due to covid) and didn’t want to risk playing cambuslang with boys that havent played as much.

When you were talking to this player did you express your opinion to him?

He just laughed it off cos he thinks nothing will happen of it and no one will go that far to get the proof. Personally a don’t think anything will happen either. If teams are struggling for players then use covid as an excuse and no one will blink an eyelid and just go about your business as normal after that. what’s the chances that Greenock can fulfill there game next weekend with a full squad against whoever there playing? But ah well who cares a suppose cos no ones going to ask them for the proof or any other team who does the same
