Lost iphone help

Alright troops, 

So I lost my phone when out shopping last night and it's been switched off by some thieving c**t.   I've tried to do find my iphone but for some reason it says it's not turned on on the phone.  It does show it was synced etc two days back and that.

My question is, is there a way after that to wipe the phone/remove my icloud from the device so no c**t guesses my pin right and then has access to everthing?  Called apple and they where as unhelpful as can be.

Thanks pal but it doesn't look like i activated find iphone, i just assumed it went on right away.

Not if it's not switched on.  I get a message saying I need to activate it on (stolen) iphone.

Should be able to issue a remote wipe which then executes one the phone switches on

Might be a stupid post but have you checked to see if it's been handed in anywhere.

How do you do that?  Apple didn't seem to have a clue?   It's weird because the message comes up (i need to associate a phone with my icloud id to use the feature) but go into settings it comes up all the phone info synced with the ID.

Do you see your device when you login to that link I sent?

yeah mate, it hasn't.  the fact it's been switched off then a couple messages delivered then off again leads it to stolen.  i just want to wipe the phone more than anything tbh.

I’d change bank accounts, cancel all my cards, change the password to my email and for good measure I’d move house as well.
