Man from the East
Hopefully the many millions that Man U have just spent on getting Casemiro should be a slight benefit to the national team squad. McTominay must surely develop playing alongside this level of player? Hopefully Mr McT will learns plenty and apply it for the national cause.

Looking more likely that he'll replace McTominay.Rumours already that West Ham are looking to take him.Edit: Newcastle and other too, apparently: https://www.football365.com/news/newcastle-west-ham-more-keen-mctominay-after-man-utd-confirm-60m-agreement

accies1874
Could be different with this break being a bit later than other years, but I'm sure September newbies tend to be folk who've carried the previous season's form into the new one or even stepped it up a level. McKay would fit in well there but Shankland and Burke less so.

We don't play two wingers though so what is the point?Plus we got better like Fraser who isn't even in and Forrest who is injured I think I like Tom McIntyre good defender but he isn't that commanding reads game well though read Bayern Munich were looking at him at one point -

It's time for a change.

He effectively had a free role from the middle of a back three.
Loominous
I always thought Grant Hanley plays a bit like a sweeper for Scotland. Perhaps not in the classical Libero sense, but I' think certain aspects of his role are at least sweeper-like. Specifically tending to sit a little deeper than the two outside centre backs so he can provide cover when balls are fired into the channel or over the top. All of our centre backs seem to have quite a lot of freedom in their respective roles.

Our problem with 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 is that we appear to have been 'found out' recently. I suspect the formation doesn't need to be lost, but Clarke needs to be able to adapt to teams that find ways to nullify our full backs and overload our midfield. Our formation also doesn't work at all effectively when we lose Tierney, or when McGregor/Gilmour either don't play, or Gilmour is unfit.
Toshson
McKay must be given a chance to make the squad. He's on fire in the game tonight.

craigkillie
Tierney is not going to be dropped by Scotland if he's fit.
