Marv will not find any better than Todd he is a key player for us .

Hopefully Marv can keep a core of this year's squad together most difficult to keep will be Paton.

How things change. It was only a few weeks ago that most of us wanted the vast majority of this squad binned.

To be contentious I’ve only moderated my views slightly. I would like to think Marv would have some crackers to bring in so because of lack of quality I would bin ( if we could) D McKay, Quitongo, Reilly, Murray, McKenna, Morrison, Ruth, Irving. Being provocative I don’t think we have seen the required consistency from Todd, McKechnie, East, McGrory or Kabia. I know it’s not technically the majority but about half the inflated squad.

Only an opinion before the trolls get going! Isn’t that what these sites are for?

Interesting that only 2 WG signings started on Saturday. Probably worst ratio of poor to good signings of any Queens manager

Fucking hell you’ve been on a high horse and had an authority complex for weeks disagreeing with everyone and now you say it your opinion about some load of bull and that’s what these threads are for. You’re more mental than me. You should be banned for talking shite all the time and leave the adult conversations for the men.

Not engaging with this nonsense. I will be ignoring your trolling from now on and responding to the grown up football related chat only

Always like to try and stay optimistic when it comes to Queens

So here goes

Saturday 15th We somehow beat Dunfermline and Falkirk beat Airdrie and Kelty beat or draw Alloa

Midweek Falkirk beat Edinburgh

Saturday 22nd The above results  would mean both Falkirk and Dunfermline still have something to play for and they play Alloa and Airdrie respectively. So if both Falkirk and Dunfermline win and we beat Montrose, then suddenly we are 3 (or 2) points clear off Alloa and only 1 point  behind Airdrie who we play on the 29th.. I know it doesn't take account of Edinburgh.

Simple really, now back to the asylum before they notice I'm missing.

My brain hurts with all these permutations, I'll just try and take each game as it comes. If we make the play-offs then fantastic, but I'm just happy that we're a bit more respectably placed than we have been for the majority of this season.

Indeed. I think @Skyline Drifterhas simplified it well: if we at least match Alloa's result on Saturday it isn't a disaster.

You can happily give your brain a rest. It's over.

My mind hadn’t changed and todays events merely confirms what a dreadfully poor squad has been assembled. I certainly wasn’t getting carried away with recent results because despite winning a few games most of the performances have been turgid. Bartleys selection and tactics were poor today but in reality with so many passengers and under-performers in the ranks it was mission impossible. That was always going to be a huge ask with an expectant crowd against a consistent Pars side but really what an embarrassing capitulation.

Not a surprise, it happens. We did it to Brechin 10 years ago when we had our first opportunity to win the League in fine style.  Dunfermline were never going to let up today in front of a good crowd who had only come to see one thing.  Congratulations to them.  Thankfully, we know how it feels.

Spoiler

This. That utterly woeful performance today confirmed that Bartley has been making the best of what he’s got, but it’s still a sow’s ear of a squad than can occasionally impersonate a silk purse. Today was as bad as I’ve seen Queens all season, certainly rivalling the embarrassing capitulation at home to Clyde on opening day, and the 3-0 rout at Kelty in February. A clear out is needed. I’d keep Dabrowski, Bryson, Gibson, Paton (though I expect he’s on his way), and Cochrane, and maybe McKechnie, Wilson and Todd, and that’s about it. Wouldn’t be remotely bothered to see anyone else go, including Connelly who I wrongly assumed was going to be a key player before the season started.

Yep, woeful today. As soon as I sat down and saw the starting line up I thought ... can I get a refund?

Season over, so all about the rebuild now.

Not far off mine tbh. Of those not contracted:-

Keep

Dabrowski

Cochrane/Wilson

Paton

Todd

Logan

Botterill

Chuck

McKay

Quitongo

Reilly

Murray

Ruth

McKenna

Morrison

Irving

McMahon

Wouldn't mind staying/Won't lose sleep if they go

Connelly

McGrory

East

Hendrie

McKechnie

Kabia

No idea if Wilson does have a clause that he can go at the end of the season and I hope he stays but as I say, it looks like MB will be playing one of him or Cochrane and as much as I really like Wilson I'd take a punt on Cochrane over him now tbh. Todd can have bad games but I'd still rather he stay. Botterill would be a decent enough back up if we can keep Kev and Logan has looked decent in spells. Find it hard to make a case for many more tbh.

Chucking Ruth twice. I'd happily chuck Murray twice.

This is probably my thinking too.

Looks like McGrory, D McKay & Ruth will almost certainly be shown the door going by how little they have featured under Bartley.  Quitongo & McKenna will definitely be away, and getting rid of Reilly would be a bonus given he's probably one of our highest paid players and isn't likely to get a look in next season.

Cochrane and Wilson, if it was a toss up between them I'd keep Cochrane on the grounds that he is slightly less injury prone and seems to have kicked on more under Bartley - before getting dropped in favour of Wilson!  Wilson, well, can we really afford to rely on a player who in all likelihood will miss at least 25% of the season through injury?

My only issue with McKechnie is that his shooting leaves a lot to be desired.  East could do a job but maybe not as first choice.

Is Ruth really that bad that you would punt him twice?

Spoiler

Ruth IS that bad.
