The General Ross County Chat Thread

Lazy 'Max Melbourne' rip from OTB:

Aye, heard his name from a few sources today.

Another promising defensive giant from the Premiership u23s.

The review of him is a year-old and he was playing on the right, but (apparently) he's usually leftback and has been on the West Brom bench for a league game recently (fwiw Harry Souttar was on the bench for Stoke 5 times in the league).

The SFA have just published a list of completed transfers and Liam Fontaine to County is on it. Permanent deal.

Edit: as is the signing of Max Melbourne!

Thanks Kyle!

Just to confirm, the guy with the Australian porn-star name is only on loan.

Fantastic bit of detective work there BB.:thumsup2

Wow, imagine having a left back in the squad, just imagine... 8)

We only have three of them now  Let's hope the newest one is fast and can block a cross.

I watched a lot of Hibs in the Championship and he undoubtedly improved their team when he arrived, but McGregor and Hanlon have emerged to be very good defenders etc.

Is that our two signings done now?  Not even a cheeky wee pacy winger?  DKD, Gardyne, Eagles and Billy Mckay out of position it is then.

Fox

Naismith Davies Souttar Melbourne

Gardyne Draper Tansey O'Brien Eagles

N'Gog

Subs: McCarey, Fraser, Fontaine, Not Tim Chow, Keilor-Dunn, Schalk, Effiong

That's an improvement, on paper, from the start of the month. Still, whether Coyle can get them into a semi-functioning unit remains to be seen.

That team, fit, should not be adrift at the bottom (assuming Melbourne is any good).

That team, fit, should not be near the bottom (assuming Melbourne is any good).

I’m not sure I’d agree with that tbh. Either way you’re still hamstrung by the tactical tombola that is Coyle.

OK, amended to "adrift at the bottom".
The implication being that if that team remains adrift at the bottom it may be Coyle that's to blame.

Really hoping the new players plug some of the gaping holes in our team and we get the confidence to go on a good run.
