The Great Stagsby
P.S. I'm not back in the country until the 11th, so if we start badly it's nothing to do with me. Or entirely my fault for not being there yet! But if we start well, it's down to me being on my way. Of course if we lose to Hearts on the 15th, erm...
Forfinn
Risky strategy spending all your money in the Summer, especially if youre struggling come January. A reasonable point. Maybe we should have stuck to the previously tried and tested formula of saving our money in the summer, find ourselves struggling in January, spend our money then and secure safety by the end of the season. How foolish we've been.

forkboy
Risky strategy spending all your money in the Summer, especially if youre struggling come January. I think it's better to have a good squad for all season than just half a season. A bold concept for Ross County based on the past several years but maybe it'll catch on.
Savage Henry
All our money? Still room for another few if needed Yeah. This is in addition to our annual January splash.
yoda
It's been lost in the Jackson love (and who can blame us) but Daniel Bachmann confirmed his loan move earlier today. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a half-decent acquisition as well.

Spain
That explains why the website has gone into overdrive. It's either that or the news that The Great Stagsby's moving home. It's a tight one to call.
Spain
Stop the press! Now the club have heard the news too... Better late than never I guess.
dingdong1929
Ah good, states a small development fee has been paid. I can relax now and enjoy Jackson. All of him.

Savage Henry
I notice players are having to shoehorn in references to the Ladbrokes Premiership in all their interviews now.
bunglebonce
Are you referring to Bachmann's quote on the OS? I assumed it was the OS adapting the quote, to fit the direction that they invariably have to follow.
Jim McLean's Ghost
He seems genuinely chuffed with it. http://sport.stv.tv/video/4380561527001/ I don't think he was too pleased with how Celtic treated him. I wonder how much of the £250,000 in compensation Uncle Roy has ultimately had to pay. It sounds like Irvine was told he didn't have a future at Celtic and he would have to go abroad orbe stuck in the reserves if he couldn't find a club willing to pay them compensation.
CountyFan
I have a serious man crush on Jackson. He's a beautiful man and a glorious footballer.
Dalrystag
250k I doubt it we could have got a Scott Allen with some change for that. We probably supplied paint for some walls and planted trees in some community project.

frankthetank22
A home match against Ayr is probably as good as we could have hand picked, they'll be a good game but one I'd expect to qualify from.
The Great Stagsby
The current banter on the Hamilton match thread has got me wondering: Who would play in an All-Time Ross County Local Lads XI? Guys who would qualify as "locals" (though not necessarily make it into the team) from the time I've been following County: Conor Campbell Don Cowie Michael Fraser Some other keeper who went on to play for old Rangers (but never really made it there) Gary Mackay Steven (even if he never played for County first team) Tony Dingwall Steven Ross Steven Mackay, IIRC? Who else?
