Loon From Outta Toon
Very pleasing to get Flanagan some minutes in to him, hopefully he can kick on from this & put his injury behind him.
Bridie Vision
Thommo, Kev & Flanagan were brilliant today. Moore came alive in the 2nd half and as always Slatez & Stef gave 100% We were most dangerous when we played those triangles (Brindley to Slatez to Flanagan etc) on the ground really helped us move forward and split Stranraer' defence! If we play like that every week we can win the league. However, I doubt we'll do that consistently. I'm expecting us to play like we did against Bonnyrigg for the next 2 games, then we'll have another great game before going back to a poor performance and so. Glad Daz is back from injury he's sures up our backline. Flanagan had a positive debut, so all we need is Keatings fit so we can see if he's the next John Baird or Steven Doris (or most likely in-between).
Mattmc
Forfar worthy of their win. Just didn’t seem to click for Stranraer today. Thought we’d done the hard part by getting to half time at 0-0 against a strong wind. Forfar only having one real good chance, really should have scored, a great save from Scullion stopping them. Second half Forfar looked a lot better and started to play the ball a bit more. Couple of half chances for Stranraer but think our only shot that tested McCallum was the penalty. One positive from the game was Matty Grant when he came on. Looked like he had a bit about him.

I was watching him at half time warming up. His control of the ball was excellent and he looked the part. Definitely a good player there.
C_titz
Played well in spells. Not convinced with nditi. Stef , slater & thought armour did well when he came on.

Nditi’s best game of his second spell. Didn’t do anything wrong defensively and looked more himself going forward. He’s coming on to a game

nofixedability
Better, a much needed win and actually played pretty well in second half. Left back a concern still though and not creating enough from open play. Need to keep feeding the wide men the ball, both looked good.
Clayhole Blue
Still same issues for us - as well as inconsistency. First half we more than matched Forfar, but failed to score during the spell that we were on top. Second half we played second fiddle and were repeatedly guilty of overplay at the front of the Forfar box - trying to do over-elaborate play instead of just going for goal. Still not creating enough chances and still not finishing the ones we do create. When we did get a chance - from a penalty that looked anything but a penalty - it was an unconvincing attempt which was easy for the home keeper. Forfar were ok - they certainly deserved the points, and we could learn from their direct play. On the plus side we did see some very decent football in the first half, and new-signing Matty looked impressive. We never win at Forfar anyway, so onwards and upwards.

Not being facetious but don’t think you were ever on top. McCallum had one decent save in the first half on the counter, you missed a chance right before we went 2-0 up and obviously the penalty but outside of that I thought we were fairly dominant

I thought Stranraer played the ball around quite well but just seemed to lack quality in the final third. Also on the penalty, it seemed as though the lad taking it was in a hurry, seemed to be taken far too quickly.

On first viewing at the game I thought it was a clumsy challenge, on looking at the highlights I have been proved massively wrong. That is a horrendous choice to award a penalty for that
