Mr Magic
Former Scottish International Tommy Hutchison has published his autobiography Hutch Hard Work and Belief. Tommy grew up in the austere Fife Coalfield, the son of a Cardenden miner, in the 1950s Never considered good enough to play for his school team, and not playing a competitive match of any sort until the age of 15, he still retained a burning conviction that he would one day pull on the dark blue shirt of Scotland. He finally achieved his ambition, making his international debut in the famous World Cup qualifier against Czechoslovakia at Hampden in 1973. He played for Scotland in the team that played so well at the ‘74 finals. In a playing career lasting for 28 years, he appeared in exactly 1000 games, a record for an outfield player. He scored for both teams, Man City, his own team and for opponents Tottenham in the famous centenary Cup Final of 1981. He also holds the record for the oldest debutant in European competition when playing for Swansea in the Cup Winners Cup at the age of 43. He finally hung up his boots after three years at Merthyr at 46 years old. Tommy also played for Alloa, Blackpool, Coventry and Burnley and had spells in America and in Hong Kong. He is a very funny but very humble chap with an entertaining rags to being comfortable in a seventies footballer kind of a way story to tell! His book is published by Pitch Publishing and a signed copy can be delivered to your door by using the form below. Pocketman
yeh, and I assume this is the co-author, advertising the book. Which seems pretty reasonable enough. Kindle edition seems to be available on Amazon.
