Agreed, it's mental how he's singled out week after week. He could easily have had three or four assists, some of his link-up play and passing was really good.

If it'd been Aitken who missed the open goal, not Armour there would've been riots.

You make a good point there. I think Matty can work well in a particular system, as a support forward lay-off man. I think his problem here is that he's not a great goalscorer and he has been tasked for the last couple seasons as our focal point, our main avenue for goals and that doesn't suit him.

He's also probably not technically gifted enough to be a number 10 attacking midfielder, so having him totally up top can be infuriating.

Another downside to Matty is that he falls over so often that even when he is fouled referees just ignore him.

What he does have going for him is the fact he's our only product of the old development side playing for Forfar.
