Salvo Montalbano
Wighton should have scored and there have been nice flashes of skill from Ritchie-Hosler, McGowan, McCann and Wighton but otherwise it has been a bit pish. Only seems to be one catering outlet for us today and I'm not sure if I can be arsed queuing for something but it would at least give me something to do...

Salvo Montalbano
Was a nice move for Wighton's goal, and a nice lob for McGowan's. Not sure how many players Alloa have to bring in but can't see then beating Hamilton over two legs.

Taggart, Church, Strachan, Robertson and Scougall not involved at all today. If fit they would almost all be expected to start. Similarly Stanger, Donnelly and Sammon were subs today but would also likely start on a normal day. I don't know how many of that lot were rested and how many won't be available and it's also impossible to second guess Brian Rice anyway, but I think it is safe to say the team from today won't lineup in the play-offs. Absolute free hit for us and while I don't expect us to go up, if we were to play to potential then we're capable of beating any of the other three sides. Congratulations to the Pars on the title, clearly very deserving champions.

Rory
Couple of good saves from Jay today. Andy Graham also had a couple of important tackles/blocks. Thought Coulson looked good today, lots of energy chasing down defenders. Other than that, don't think any of the players given a start done much to earn a start in the playoffs.
LeodhasXD
Typical end of season game. Got to give it to McGowan for the lob that was sensational but I suspect a very short highlights tonight. It was evident that the game was getting nursed to avoid any more injuries but fairly sure O'Donnell looked crocked coming away too so not too successful.
par-adise
Was the national anthem played before the game? I see that's been happening in England.

Good luck in the playoffs. Going up against three of the most dislikeable teams in the lower leagues so we're all rooting for you.

The SPFL decided not to dictate to clubs that they had to play it, unlike in England.
DA Baracus
By the way, what a finish from McGowan. Looking forward to seeing that again. He was good today, like he was playing for a contract!

McGowan is an excellent player, who is coming back from injury, and will be an excellent asset to any team willing to offer him a contract in the Championship next season. I’m hopeful it will be us.
printer
I thought we played OK today overall, especially give we were missing several first choices as Waspie has pointed out. First half there was nothing in it. Second we looked too open at the back the longer the game went on. Maybe that was partly down to changes, but also as Dunfermline upped their game and started to find space down the flanks and behind our centre backs, running out comfortable winners. (I've been at all four league games between the sides and also went to the last Pars v Bairns game. In none of those did I come away raving about this Dunfermline team and, yet, they won all five games with an aggregate score of 10 zip. They are very solid and very competent, with more flair than is obviously apparent. I think they'll do well next season.) Classic Chipper IMO when Stanger came on at half-time but was put on the left of the back three when he's always on the right, leaving Durnan, who has been featuring often on the right on the left. Devine back in contention is a big plus IMO. Adam King and Coulson did OK, without suggesting they should start on Tuesday. Cammy O'Donnell did well too.

That’s kind of what I was looking for in the game today - could any of the fringe players stake a claim for Tuesday? Thought Devine started poorly but came in to the game a bit more after about 20 minutes. Durnan did pretty well defensively in the first half and got himself forward a bit as well, although not exactly the most delicate with his final ball!! Cammy did ok against a very good opponent. Was a bit disappointed with both King and Coulson though to be honest. On the game, 1st half was tight with the only big chance being Wighton forcing a great save from Hogarth. May have been a different story in the 2nd if the ref gave the shirt pull on Miller (not sure if it was definitely in the box?) but Dunfermline’s quality shone through the longer the half went on. From an Alloa view I would say we really suffered with a lack of quality in the final third, but I think you have to credit the Pars for their defensive solidity - they are well worthy of the Championship and the goals against over the season stands out even more to me than having just 1 defeat, conceding just 21 goals in 36 games is an outstanding achievement. Need to go in to the playoffs with a positive mindset, for me it’s a completely free hit so hopefully we can lift our game for the occasion. Hoping we can go in to Tuesday as injury free as possible and desperately hoping Taggs is available with Doyley ineligible. Great to see Andy hitting the 250 mark today, what a servant he has been.
