Merkie84 Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Ah, so we really do need a Celtic win? Looks like it makes a big difference, not just the odd extra qualifying round. 0 Quote

Irrational Behaviour Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 We need 8 association trained players in our squad for Europe. Going to be interesting to see how we achieve that. I'd imagine that Devlin won't be the only Scottish player we sign. 0 Quote

We need 8 association trained players including at least 4 club trained players in our 25 man squad. Players under 21 aren’t included in the squad and we can use any number of them. These players must have played with ourselves or another Scottish club between 15-21. Of our currently (or future) contracted players/loanees, that leaves us: McCrorie McKenzie Shinnie Kennedy Barron Devlin Campbell McLennan It’s obviously pretty unlikely that all of them will be here next season. I believe we can also use under 21s who meet the criteria (Barron, Duncan, Ngwenya, Milne) although that eats into space in the 25 man squad. Anyway, a few more Scottish signings could be on the horizon. 2 Quote

Unless they have a squad of 25 over 21 year olds, they can always leave spaces in the squad to count as a homegrown spot. I can't imagine the squad is going to grow that much over the next few months. At the moment they'd struggle to meet the minimum player requirement. 0 Quote

Aberdeen have one of the best Academies in the country We’ve made millions in the last few years developing young Scottish players and selling them on If kids are good enough at Aberdeen, they’ll get a game 0 Quote

All Scotland internationals who have been developed by Aberdeen in some capacity. Outside of Celtic, no one else can produce a list like that. 0 Quote
tarapoa Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) Just glad to be back here after last season’s hiatus. The fact that our 7th best points haul in the past decade has somehow yielded eight guaranteed European games - wow, just wow. I think we merit a go at this for a decade of relative credibility on the continental stage - embrace the new format and give it a serious go AFC…. Edited June 3, 2023 by tarapoa 0 Quote
ScoRoss Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 An entire Aberdeen homegrown XI would easily qualify for Europe.
