There's probably more than me, but just won't admit to it.

@Ivo den Bieman used to drop in with occasional gems, and @LongTimeLurker posted occasionally. Usually it's just me and @hatchetman, although we seem to have enticed in @centralTon. The Carrick fan seems to have disappeared, hope he's allright

I'm still watching- just not enough time for P&B right now.

Thought it was a remarkably poor performance from Cliftonville the other night featuring some clownshoes goalkeeping- dear oh dear. Linfield were relentless but had a lot of help.

Big psychological blow that for Cliftonville- can see it really now being between the top two. Two very good sides to watch and not an awful lot between them.

At the other end I'm pleased to see Glenavon got over their woeful start which led to Gary Hamilton's demise.

Intriguing four way fight for the title in the NI Championship with old historical name Dundela pulling ahead nicely- attached their recent vital win in Derry against Institute. Bangor and Portadown in the mix. Dundela have problems though- their park is not good enough for promotion so they need to fix that or pass up promotion I think.

Limavady look like bouncing back quickly from the intermediate league which they lead from Queen's University. The bigger names with recent Premiership history- Warrenpoint and Distillery- treading water in mid-table & going nowhere this season. Warrenpoint have been pish in 2024 and fallen away into mid-table.

I heard yesterday that Dundela, the likely Chanpionship winners, haven't applied for their top flight licence, and so the bottom team will play off for the Premiership spot with the second placed Championship team (assuming they've applied for the licence.) Seems strange, and don't know if it's true or not, but it looks like no automatic relegation this season.

Linfield beat Ballymena, but Cliftonville crash at Stangmore. Crusaders and Coleraine both win and Loughgall share 6 goals with Carrick.

Top: Larne P 30 Pts 73, second  Linfield P 31 Pts 72, third Cliftonville  P 31 Pts 67. Glentoran, Crusaders and Coleraine occupy the remaining top 6 places

Seventh (3 points behind Coleraine) are Carrick, then Loughgall, Dungannon Swifts and tenth are Glenavon, 11 points clear and a game in hand from eleventh place Ballymena on 19 points, with Newry City in bottom spot with 14 points.

That's the first time since October that Coleraine and Crusaders have won 2 successive league games.

Mickey Mouse competition.

( I got a real sickener at Firhill a couple of weeks ago. I was licking my wounds but ventured out again on Tuesday. That went well.)

Cliftonville win 2-0, good game. Both sides hit the woodwork, Cliftonville twice. The ports had an "equaliser" chalked off for a very tight offside before the Belfast Reds clinched it. Cliftonville deserved it, but Portadown weren't disgraced.

Glentoran and Larne join Cliftonville in the semis after beating Ballyclare Comrades and Newington respectively.

Up to Institute to provide a shock, they play Linfield this afternoon at the Brandywell, currently 1-0 to Linfield.

Semi-finals: Linfield v Glentoran, Larne v Cliftonville. Two crackers.

A great draw. I might be home that weekend and could be talked into attending either of those. I'd like to see Cliftonville lift it.

Linfield win the League Cup.

Highlights - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68533693

Larne, drop 2 points at the Coleraine Showgrounds, Ballymena drop a goal lead (and 3 points) at the Ballymena Showgrounds, Loughgall scud 10 man Glentoran at the Oval, Glenavon beat the Swifts, and Carrick lose at home to Newry.

Goals/action - Coleraine v Larne  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68521857

Ballymena v Crusaders  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68525015

Glenavon v Swifts  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68525260

Carrick v Newry  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/rugby-union/68521859

and Glens v Loughgall  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68525021

Larne still top, P 31 pts 74, 2nd Linfield P 31 Pts 72 and third with a wee bit to do now Cliftonville P 31 Pts 67. Crusaders are now fourth, a mere 16 points behind the Reds.

At the bottom; Bottom Newry City, closing the gap on Ballymena to 2 points P 31 Pts 17, 11th Ballymena P 21 Pts 19 and then 12 points to Dungannon Swifts in 10th, also played 31.

Cliftonville must be an outside bet for the title, although everybody has to play everybody, and maybe even twice in some cases, and it looks like Newry or Ballymena for the drop, if there is in fact a drop this year, still haven't read anything definitive about the relegation situation.

Declan Caddell announced as next manager.  With the club all his career. Great player. Bled red and black.(regularly) Involved with the youth sides. Should know us inside out. Whilst I'm not sure this is always a good thing, I wish him all the best. He'll have my full support.
