#Barclays 24/25

Surely by this point any manager who's actually highly regarded isn't even going to countenance this farce? They're only going to get failures on the rebound (just imagine Ten Hag getting it) or old people who want their pension topped up by having a year's holiday (get Big Sam imo). Can't say they don't deserve it.

Got boring as f**k with the incredibly tedious England debate. As there is some actual news about the Premier League, and as it's too soon to open next season's thread as we don't know who has won the playoffs yet, made sense to unlock it again.

Threads getting locked for being boring?

Are you taking nominations?

Chelsea’s transfer strategy of spending several years of budget on a bunch of highly promising youngsters and amortising that cost over the following seasons and hoping they come good only makes some kind of sense if they’re  at least looking at the medium term.  Which makes this look particularly silly

One defeat in their last 15 league games and the third-best team in the last 10, only two points behind Arsenal.

Boehly gave Pochettino a squad of talented players with no shape, playing philosophy or cohesion and a real problem finding goals, because he's another clueless billionaire that thinks that success in one thing makes him an omnigenius. Coming into the changing room after games to lecture players, they should have told him to fk off back to his boardroom. Pochettino was obviously starting to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, he was finding the best way to utilise that squad and identify the gaps that still needed to be filled.

But Boehly is a fkwit and it's great watching him fail. More mid-table mediocrity for Chelsea next season. Without Champions League money they're going to find it impossible to sign anyone worthwhile due to the PSR constraints he's put on them. They could do a Leeds.

Given their start to the season, I thought Chelsea ended the season very strongly under Pochettino and like I said a few pages back, that squad looks as if it's going to really gel in the next 12-18 months.

Would not be surprised to see Ruben Amorim turn up there, if only because the owner strikes me as a flavour of the month sort.  Even for the Barclays, this is just baffling.
