ICTChris
Former Brora Rangers manager Craig Campbell has been banned from all sport until 2026 for anti doping violations. Campbell was arrested in 2018 for possession of cocaine with intent to supply after being arrested outside Dudgeon Park before a Brora game. Following this conviction the anti-doping authorities brought proceedings against Campbell which concluded today. https://www.northern-times.co.uk/sport/former-brora-rangers-manager-is-banned-from-all-sport-for-fo-321508/ Was this widely known? I would have thought a manager being arrested for drug dealing with cash and drugs on them outside their teams ground would have been more publicised?
TheScarf
It definitely wasn't reported at the time.
Richey Edwards
I vaguely remember hearing about this at the time.

You'd have thought the court case and conviction would have had a big splash in the local papers, I don't remember a thing. And Brora promoting him to manager from coach a year after his conviction. Sounds like customers friends in high places. Edited July 28, 2023 by welshbairn

If it wasn't reported in the press and Campbell didn't tell many folk at the time it's quite conceivable that it never got back to him.

He was arrested outside Dudgeon Park just before a game where he was supposed to be coaching, it's unlikely it didn't get back to the board.

Then I guess he was allowed to remain as coach until the court case. A strange stance to take from Brora and sends out a pretty poor message.
Comrie
I heard a few rumours around the time but nothing concrete. Very strange attitude from Brora.

He was appointed as manager after the court case - article says he was in court in September 2020, they appointed him manager in September 2021. He resigned in January this year, all the articles about it in the press say it was a surprise he resigned as Brora were doing well in the league, suggesting the press didn't know about it. Here is a summary of the decision -https://www.ukad.org.uk/sites/default/files/2023-07/UKAD v Campbell - Issued Decision.pdf

Incidentally he was battered by four young men dressed up as nuns back in his Elgin City days. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/footballer-was-beaten-up-by-fancy-fress-1013413
