Jives Miguel
Thought this deserves a thread of its on. Only out on PC at the minute, but it's selling an absolute f**k ton and rightly getting praised to the high heavens .PS4 version out next month, and XBOX sometime next year. Has anyone pumped the grizzly bear yet?
SweeperDee
Not yet, going for Shadowheart pumping. Just did Moonrise towers and the stuff after that, but the game is absolutely fucking huge, and not a micro transaction in sight. It’s definitely GOTY, and possibly one of the best games of all time. This type of game has never been my sort of thing but the hype convinced me to buy and I don’t regret it at all. It’ll easily be a 2000hr playtime game.

I'm just about to head off to Moonrise Towers I think, just need to fully discover Sunlit Wetlands. Not sure what do about the big missile things at the gates of the Underdark though. Or how to trigger Halsin to go there. Agreed, the amount of content in the game is fucking insane(127 hours of cutscenes!!!!). Add in the fact that every single thing you do in the game has a material affect on the plot, it's an astonishing piece of work. I think I read online there are 17,000 ending variations. Good to have a game that reminds developers what an actual RPG is, after years of crap action games getting the label. Boo Khaki
Spoiler Saw a youtube clip featuring Viccy. Totally out of canon, and looks nothing remotely like any depiction of her I've ever seen, so that's a line I'm not willing to cross, won't be buying, game is shite, etc etc

Lofarl
This is a game that you really need to have spare time to play. It's not a game where you fire it up for a quick blast. The amount to do it beyond comprehension. I interuptted some giant orgres shagging, I asked to join in. They attacked me. I stole a necklace and blamed it on a kid that got locked up. I've killed characters that I was probably supposed to get join my party.

There's no way I will ever finish it.

You can bumrush the main story but it would really detract from the game. Maybe wait for it when it goes on sale.

I would recommend that, that is still a huge game (not as big as BGS3 mind) but it would get you familiar with the nature of BGS3.

Is the combat in BG3 the same as DOS2?

Top down (kind of), turn based with a class system, it’s just BGS3 is far more extensive imo. A lot of folk who detract from BGS3 just say it’s DOS2 or Path of Exile with a lot of add-ons. Strange complaints since they are all great games. There are far more options in combat in BGS3. GiGi
PoE isn't a very good comparison at all. Other than in complexity.

DoS2 is very, very similar in all aspects of the game. The only difference really (from what I can remember, its been 3 years) is that BG3 has full cinematic cut scenes and dialogues, whereas Dos2 is just the voiceacting. Combat is slightly easier because you can opt to skip a turn to gain a bonus on the next turn. Excellent game, but it's not that much shorter than Bg3. Still a meaty 80 hour epic. -
