philpy
It would be absolutely ridiculous and completely detrimental to people's mental health and wellbeing if they brought this shit into the Scottish game. People had enough of government and police control during lockdown. Getting back to the football, meeting up with mates for a pint, heading to away games, people are just glad to be getting back to a Saturday routine after not being able to physically go and watch their team. I like a pint before a game, but I don't make point of getting so hammered that I'm struggling to focus on a game. Yes there are people who make a c**t of themselves every game, but on the otherhand there are plenty of people who will do the same as me. Tarring all away fans with the same brush is going to achieve absolute nothing.

Hedgecutter
Wait, somebody wants it to be a requirement for Police Scotland get a call from the Brechin City Supporters Club asking for permission to park up outside a field a mile west of Pitmedden? Eta: this one's a corker: e. PSVs are not to set down or uplift passengers at any unauthorised locations without prior permission of the police. [ring ring] "Police Scotland? Hi, this is the BCSC. We're currently running a supporters' bus from Brechin to Lossiemouth and one of our fans wants to alight the bus near Aberdeen seeing as he lives up that way. Is it possible to get put through to the relevant person that can give us permission for this to happen please? No, this isn't a joke..." Just absolutely swarm them with the most inane bullshit constantly. 50+ supporters buses phoning at once to discuss their route and plan. They'll be seeing this as an easy way to hit some targets as they just have to follow supporters buses and wait for an infringement.

Imagine sanitising a fucking derby to this extent. Now that they are bored of football supporters just being a cash cow that people want to milk dry, they are now insisting on kicking f**k out of them into the bargain whilst milking them. If someone buys a ticket and then goes along on the train, surely neither club can police that? Or will they be taking lists on the buses and whoever isn't there gets marked absent, like it's a school trip to Cardiff? Mental, either way.

The buses then have to turn up in deisgnated time slots to the stadium and thats the only access away fans get, theres no open turnstile. This is why it's so dangerous that Celtic/Rangers/Hearts are trying to push away supports out the ground. The police will absolutely back that stance and try and enforce a "no away support" allowed rule at games. Itll start with big games then trickle down, and before you know it cup games at neutral venues will be the only times supports share a stadium in the top tier. Dons_1988
Seems we’re getting caught in the middle of a pissing contest between the uk and Scottish government. Fantastic. There is no justification for these rules whatsoever but it is presented as ‘law and order’ so a large demographic of people will be supportive of controlling the swathes of drunk and violent football fans marauding the country every week. -

Where does the Scottish Government come into this? It’s the UK Traffic Commissioner requesting permission from the UK Government to introduce the guidelines. They will be policed by the Traffic Commisioners who come under the UK Government.

"Hi, we phoned last week about stopping for Fish & Chips at Fochabers en route to Brechin. However, we're in Fochabers just now and it appears the shop is temporarily closed due to some mishap, and we'd like to request permission to stop at the Strathisla Cafe instead, parking at Regent Square in Fife Keith. No, in Moray, not Fife. No, there isn't anywhere else suitable in Fochabers. We're not going to order 37 pizzas from Milanos. Yes I am fully aware that there are more important things out there, I'm just following government protocol here."
