Just saw replay of Holt’s goal, an absolute bullet header.  What a signing he’s been.

Spoke to a few Thistle fans on the train coming back from Arbroath yesterday.

Whilst of the two, I've been most impressed with Docherty, Holt is their one their fans talk the most highly of.

When he first broke into the team, Freeman was fearless, attack minded and though he wasn't the best at defending, he still did his bit. The fact he was deployed at left back and still did a fantastic job against AZ at home was a testament to him.

Now though, he's a shell of the player he was. Second half yesterday every cross seemed to hit the first man, he didn't make a tackle as far as I could remember and his teammates appeared to have no confidence to pass to him. Cudjoe coming on had no impact because he had no obvious route to collect the ball.

In a losing team, I can understand the lack of confidence, but this season has gone really well, and he still plays like he's a trauma victim.

How does a player come back from this, other than to move clubs?

I think you have answered your own question. There's a player in there somewhere, but I think he needs a change of scene.

Would be the best thing for the player and for the club.  He’s unlikely to get much game time under Goodwin.

Even a loan in January might not be the worst idea, see if that helps him get his mojo back.

It’s not a bad idea.  We could also look to bring in a RB on loan to give us options with how we utilise Grimshaw.

If we continue as we’re going there might be bigger clubs willing to offer a player on loan who could be part of a league winning side.

ETA would then give both club and player options for the following season.

I agree Freeman may be better going out on loan in January, my original point was that yesterday he looked no worse, to me, than Grimshaw, who hasn't impressed this season.

A couple of the ICT players caught my attention yesterday, including Morgan Boyes, who, although he's seen as a central defender, looks like he has the skill to play in midfield (I'm really saying he looks like a midfielder playing in the wrong position). Thought that when I've watched him last season, for Livingston.
