FifeSons Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Great to see the masses have rushed to pay their respects to Mr Lowry. #thefevercameandthegoodlordmoppedhisbrow 0 Quote
FifeSons Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 (edited) Looking forward to seeing the ‘Dumbarton Loyal’ down the rock, with their half season tickets, next week. Imagine shelling out a hundred odd quid to get in the home end for a completely meaningless cup tie that you’re guaranteed to win about 6-0. Elite mentality. Edited January 13 by FifeSons 0 Quote

Half season ticket money spunked to Dumbarton Orcs never seen again win / win 1 Quote

Someone on our thread had the genius idea that we should've given the smallest possible away allocation, so they'd all have to buy the season tickets. Expect the 'home' end is going to be a good 3:1 ratio of Sevco to Sons fans. 0 Quote

What are the chances of this actually going ahead? I'm flying up to Aberdeen tomorrow night and not even sure that'll go ahead with the snow in the North East. 0 Quote

Assuming the forecast is accurate, I think the pitch being waterlogged could be a bigger issue than it being frozen. Despite the fact it'll be absolutely solid at the moment. It looks like it's going to tip down from tomorrow morning right through until the game, with the temperatures well above freezing. I can see that causing more issues than it still being rock solid. Put it this way though. I've got 2.5 pages in this week's paper earmarked for the game. But, by this afternoon all being well, I'll also have 2.5 pages of backup stuff complete. Which kind of gives you an idea of how confident I am that it'll be played... 1 Quote
The Moonster Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I've heard the Rangers groundstaff are helping us out to get it on but there's only so much that can be done to a park that doesn't shift water. Need to hope that the weather is kind enough. 1 Quote

Right now unless they are bringing industrial size hair dryers I don’t see how much help they are going to be! on another note, it’s very quiet in here from the rangers fans. Strange considering how desperate and what lengths they went to for tickets! 0 Quote

I can only ever really recall seeing two of them on P&B, and one of them's already posted and didn't seem to like the thread Come on Rangers fans, let's be havin' you! 0 Quote
bennett Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Back to the fitba after the break, I wouldn't make too many changes for this one and try to win it as soon as possible. Not fans of young Lowry, he's at Hearts this season so rather pointless going on about him. 1 Quote

FifeSons Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 (edited) I think if we had Brett Long available, we'd be capable of making a game out of this. Not saying we'd win, but we could certainly make it uncomfortable. I don't know if Harry Broun is still available or if he's fallen out with Farrell (since he wasn't even on the bench since being dropped) but I'd be going with him over O'Neil, purely because he's actually played a game of football this decade. Hoping to see Fabio Silva play, just for the bantz of seeing an FM wonderkid at the rock. Even more hopefully, and much less likely, the Sevco fans in the 'home' end behave themselves. Otherwise it's just going to be an extremely unpleasant day, regardless of what happens on the pitch. I highly doubt the stewards or police will lift a finger to keep any of them in check.
