Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young was considered for a role in The Monkees but recommended his friend Peter Torkinson instead (who became Peter Tork to simplify things). Davy Jones of The Monkees had a haircut that was deliberately copied for Walter Koenig for the role of Chekov in that show you like.
