Hi everyone, i'm working with someone who is a graphic designer and illustrator working on illustrating as many of the kits we can in the world from 1980-90 and i'm covering the Scotland research.

I have looked around generally and cannot find any great pictures online on Google or other sites plus i have exhausted all the info in all the Clydesdale Bank books.

I was wondering if anyone on here is an ex player or a fan that goes back to the 80's of Dumbarton, has shirts and photos of them, home and away, and or photographs in colours of the squads and the players from the 80's, in black and white too even?

Looking for photos of the shirts, kits and players with sponsors:

▪︎Unsponsored Umbro amber and white

▪︎Thermal K Shield kits

▪︎Masonary Contracts kits

▪︎Polaroid kits

This would be a massive help if any fans have info, photos of items or players from then. Thanks.

Quite hard to find, here's an old shirt with K Shield on & a better pic of the home/away Umbro kit.

Thanks, i'd seen that Matsudo Thermal K Shield before, apparently there was an Umbro one. Do you know if there is any old Dumbarton players from the 80s about here or on Facebook? Thanks.

Quite the trip down Memory Lane here & some long forgotten faces from my early days watching league football.

My first ever Montrose game was in December 1990 at Boghead- a 4-1 Scottish Cup win. The home support was seething and calling for poor old Billy Lamont's head at the end. Montrose were streets better that night against a poor Dumbarton side. Hard to believe they'd been in the Premier League four or five season before that.

Absolutely stunning photos Boghead ranter, these are total unearthed gems and i didn't even know existed, the colour photo of the Thermal K Shield and other kits are just rare. Have you got higher resolution of these photos and can email them to me? Its j.m.mills54@gmail.com if so. If not these are just stunning pieces of information and photographs anyways, just needing the accuracy for the illustrations but this is great.

Massive massive thanks.

I missed my school Christmas party to attend that game although the game was possibly the better choice. What I find more amazing than it not being long after we were a top flight team is that we won the league the following season. And iirc, it was a Monday night which is some journey to attend your first ever game.
