Dom Thomas yesterday could have been blindfolded with his football boots replaced with a pair of wooden clogs. His passing would still have been utterly superior to any of the sorry possession play Ayr had.

It helped that we didn’t play with a left back for much of the game and Thomas and Longridge had complete freedom in that area of the pitch.

That we had to resort to to stating McGinty at left back says it all about this season, especially recruitment.

Cannot wait to see the back of this season.

Lovely cross from Longridge for the opener, I think he's been a very decent player for us at this level, imo he's been harshly criticised by some of our support, he always puts in a shift wherever he's asked to play but also fair play to Mauchin when he came on thought he had a positive impact as well as McLeish

Aye. That was pretty much the worst performance i've seen from an Ayr side but tbf aside from 10mins in the second half Queens never let them get started.

Just noticed that bellend Paton actually ran to The Somerset Road End to have a go at us, i took it for granted he just happened to be at the edge of the box at ft.

Oh that’s fantastic. Genuinely wasn’t expecting tears.

Spoiler

This season has probably been the most reliable and consistent version of longridge throughout his whole time with us. A career littered with inconsistent performances but fair play to him as he’s actually a very capable right back nowadays. He’s not a winger anymore and he’s passable in central midfield but right back is where he’s best at. If he’s to be an option in that particular area, I’d be happy to offer him another deal for next season
