Bob731
Duffy has royally fucked this team yet parades about as some all knowing sage on radio. What a c**t.

Maybe this relaxed attitude from the gaffer would explain why half our team seem half asleep during games. Also encouraging to see he might have actually finally looked at the league table although he thought there was a two point gap between us and Stranraer and had to be corrected. Encouraging signs! I'm never a fan of his interview style, but this one really stuck in my craw. He just comes across like he's running down his contract and waiting to move on at the end of the season and whatever happens to Clyde happens.

I don't think he gives a damn whether we stay up or not. If we do go down, he can play the "sinking ship" card and say Duffy had already killed the club by the time he arrived. Everything about his demeanor suggests he thinks we should be grateful he's even bothering with us.
PTR
For large parts of that, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a dead rubber for both teams. Similar to Dumbarton, urgency was only shown after going behind. The last twenty minutes is what should've been happening for the full second half. Deciding to make an effort to win the game with time running is not a great approach. It was actually fairly comical for me that Kabia hadn't even reached the stand by the time his replacement had created a goal. I'm concerned by the apparent lack of concern on the pitch. It's a well trodden path to discuss 'leaders', 'fighters' etc. but that's obviously lacking on the park. It's not too unexpected with his this side has been cobbled together this season, but it is noticeable. Probably should have won. Another two trademark Clyde goals conceded. Great save at the end, but really need to impose upon teams far earlier than McCall seems to approve of.

I've been shouted down a few times since I pointed this out about the 3rrd or 4th time he played for us. Rarely have I seen a less interested individual (and we have a few at the moment !). Even before he was subbed yesterday he looked as of he wanted off after being treated on the park 2/3 times with what appeared to be very minor ailments. Just pray that we're not stupid enough to give him a contract. Its pretty typical of the general malaise and lack of urgency as a team given our precarious situation. As I've said previously, gives me no confidence for the last 2 games.

Will they turn up and prove it? Well, that remains to be seen...hence my "blind optimism". Fair enough but that's the worry. I don't doubt certain players ability it's their attitude that alarms me and the stupid needless goals lost almost every game.

We beat Stenny 6-1 away...then draw 2-2 giving away 2 poor goals...how on earth can we bank on having beaten Elgin and East Fife previously? I'm sorry to say I think we are in the playoffs and it could well be by next weekend.....I hope I'm wrong and I hope Bonnyrigg and Stranraer get caned next week and we go to Elgin with hope....but, but, but. All quiet from our Board eh? All on Allan Maitland it seems.....he is the man with the poisoned chalice....but let's not forget exactly which group of incompetents put us here and gave Allan such a difficult task. Survival will only be worth celebrating if the Boardroom is gutted in the summer.

Was thinking the same last night, there is individual quality in the team but collectively we’ve only seen it in flashes. There’s been folk on here since about January saying we’re in the play offs. It really has become quite boring reading the same stuff over and over. It may well happen, but given how far back we were at certain points we’ve done fairly well to be within 1 and 3 points of the teams above. Us, Stranraer and Bonnyrigg all have games with teams with nothing left to play for, so it’s an even keel on that aspect.

His whole manner, whether in interviews or in the dugout, seems one of disinterest.

I don't think he will get the blame which is partly why he seems so blasé about it all. In fairness, I don't think he is the main problem right now anyway. If our players are waiting for McCall to get them going that's on them as much as anyone else. Don't they have any professional integrity or just natural will to win? How did they become professional footballers in the first place to apparently just go through the motions when staring relegation in the face? It's frustrating and baffling in equal measure.

The Board will blame him trust me...they love a scapegoat to deflect from their incompetence, wouldn't surprise me if Maitland copped some flak from them too. Well if the players suffer from no will to win, no professional integrity, or don't seem to care about the prospect of relegation.........who's to blame, them or the people who brought them in? The Board will hide behind this too. You also have loanees who wish to remain fit to return to their parent Club, players who already know they won't be retained and who want to remain fit to hopefully find a new Club and players who will flat refuse to join us in the LL if that's where we end up, and they'll want to stay fit to find another option. It's a complete shitshow frankly.

Clyde_MM
The marking for Stenny's first is poor. Their second is infuriating though. Slack ball from Howie to lose possession but it was far from a lost cause at that point. Our entire defence just decided to give Kirkpatrick as much time as he wants to set himself. Great finish tbf.
