Nowhereman
Just checking train times for Friday night and I see that the 4 50am (that's ten to five in the morning) from Edinburgh to Dumbarton on Saturday 18th May is apparently sold out. Is that Dumbarton fans expecting to make a night of it after the play off?

I do, aye. Additionally though, I firmly believe most of those going to support Dumbarton are "Dumbarton fans" while a lot of the Spartans crowd will be fans of the bigger Edinburgh sides turning up to support a local club. Is that scorching hot conjecture? Aye. Still believe it to be true. Edited May 12 by Clyde_MM

On the flipside, Spartans don't have a fanbase and it's nice communicating with people so I'd be happy to see Dumbarton stay down. I hope football is the winner. in the East of Scotland days there used to be about 3 regular Spartans posters. One was Grimbo... the other was quite a nice guy and pretty sharp but he's deid now and the third has disappeared. A mate of mine who no longer supports City used to enjoy winding them up. As for City they've got a lot of fuds now, the biggest of which is Tamthe.. hud oan a minute...

Cheers for the heads up about this Tam character though. With any luck, he'll get his act together over the summer!

You knew you were at a club where good things were happening but there was a tangible lack of passion and atmosphere. It seemed more of a project than a football club with a tradition and support base to match. Hopefully that will come in the years ahead.

You have to start from somewhere and Spartans seem to be doing plenty right. Just for the time being, I'd say I have a similar impression as yourself.
WC Boggs
If it was any other team but Dumbarton I'd be rooting for Spartans in this. They have done magnificently well in their first season in the league. It is Dumbarton though and their fan's have suffered enough over the past few years. Time to man up Faz get it done.

Kelheart
Off topic question but I can remember when Dumbarton were in the top league and did they ever play in the televised five or six aside games or is this just my old fart brain jumbling shit up ?? Best of luck tonight both teams , would prefer Dumbarton as took us far too long to get the upper hand with Spartans
