bluetoonscotty Posted Sunday at 07:58 Share Posted Sunday at 07:58 (edited) Took us a while to get into the game, we seemed panicky at the back and were giving away possession far too easily. This poor start allowed Trouten to score a very clever header which looped over McKenzie. Following that we really took control of the game and played the way we have been so far this season. Plenty chances being created but we just could not stick the ball in the back of the net. Was sore to lose another one right before HT but again, was our own doing. A lack of concentration meant we didn’t pick up on the short corner and allowed an uncontested cross into the box which lead to the goal. We looked bright for the first 5-10 minutes of the 2nd half but again just couldn’t find that finishing touch. After that, we completely lost our foothold on the game creating next to nothing. Credit to EF, they took the sting right out of the game, managed it very well and deserved their victory in the end. A very streetwise team who will be right up there contending for the title. We missed Ryan Strachan today calming things down at the back along with Cammy Smith who is becoming an important player for us the way he leads the press and links things together. Hopefully have them back soon along with Shanks and McCarthy. Disappointing the way we let the game fizzle out but we’ve still put ourselves in an excellent position after 7 games. Just got to learn from that one and move on with two massive home games before the challenge cup weekend. He's been carrying a niggling hamstring problem for weeks as has Ben Armour and with our main striker Kieran Shanks sidelined since the beginning of the season with a fractured collarbone, Rory was supposed to be used sparingly but you can't keep him away from a football pitch. Some boy. I hope its not serious as it could be another couple of months before we are back at full striking capacity.

peternapper Posted Monday at 13:42 Share Posted Monday at 13:42 Watched the highlights & actually thought we looked better in them than at the game. Defenders need to have a plan how defend corners properly. Cammy Smith was badly missed and too many others had a off day.
