Queen's Park VS Accies

Recommended Posts

Both teams are coming into this game with a good result from the weekend. I don't expect us to make any changes as it would be harsh to drop anyone from the weekend as nobody really put a foot wrong and we were much better set up against Partick than what we were against Livingston and Raith the 2 previous weeks.

Overall I'm quite looking forward to this game and I'm glad this is been played at Hampden rather than lesser. Both teams have shown that they have the ability to score in goals in games this season and I think they'll be a few this weekend. Queen's Park 2-2 Accies.

Expecting a tight contest. Like us, Hamilton have only really had one slapping, been competitive in every other game and picked up a few points. Both teams will be looking at this one as a potential to pick up points. Our home form was horrifying last season and we’ve already seen an improvement on that front. Three points here would see a solid start evolving into an impressive looking one.

Aye cannae wait. I expect to witness Rankin ball in its full hoof ball glory given the size of the pitch. As I post most weeks, hope I am wrong and he pulls something out of the bag appropriate to the game we are in. The free kick that created our goal last week looked to have been well planned to be fair.

We desperately need to be more confident on the attack and stop sitting in so deep.

Highlight of the day will be lunch and some beers before kick off (as it is most weeks tbh lol)

Won't make this tomorrow unfortunately but hopeful of getting at least a point. Team spirit is certainly high and with more players coming back from injuries the squad is getting stronger.

Callum Davidson MotM curse to kick in at approximately 3:00 pm today please.

Our away record is very poor so we'll need that slice of luck 🫣

The last time we got a manager/player of the month double we failed to win a league game for 4 months...

Progress today can be measured by a clear two goal win. We’ve only scored more than once in the league twice, against the two bottom teams. Defence are proving themselves each week. Up front is where the big difference needs to come from. Not just the Man From Guess Who but the attacking midfielders too.

End the curse today. 3-1 QP.

First 30 mins or so were pretty even with both teams having good chances (that Duncan one was something else), but QP started to take control towards the end.

I don't think we're really getting the best out of Smith playing this way and Longridge is having a bit of a mare, so the left is struggling and Henderson has been getting crowded out on the right which means we're reliant on trying to break through the middle. While that's worked a few times, I don't think the 4-4-2 is set up too well to press.

Still can't believe Martin chose not to pass to Shaw in 1st min and then contrived not to get a shot in.

As Accies1874 says formation is not helping Smith and Henderson who have contributed nothing.

Think we deserved the 3 points; Accies looked decent for the first 10/15 minutes of each half, then somewhat energised when Rankin made changes, but overall we were the better side.

Fieldson has been an incredible find. Another stellar showing at left back, a position he'd apparently never played before last week. You'd never guess by watching him that he's only just turned 19 years old.

Somewhat concerned about how few goals we're scoring when in control, but we're luckily fairly solid at the back now. Lovely shithousing at the end too, which we're new at, but the 5 minutes of added time almost cancelled it out!

I thought we started the second half brilliantly, playing some really nice stuff and controlling things well, but then QP had two chances in quick succession and scored from the second which unsurprisingly came from out wide.

After that, we were really poor, but still had two or three good chances: O'Hara's which he shanked, O'Shocker's glaring miss and Shaw's scramble which seemed to be blocked by Todorotten before the players claimed for a hand ball.

When you're chasing the game and you've got THAT bench, it's unlikely you're gonna get anything imo. Something's gone wrong when you've got your two CBs linking up to cross on one wing shortly after your two strikers are linking up on the other, though that's the kind of mess you get while 1-0 down.

I feel like I've watched a completely different game to everyone else

90 minutes of anti-football from both sides, really dull, didn't feel like queens. Rudden played like a weane tbh, think he should have came off sooner.

Fieldson looked very good at LB, thought every other defensive player looked solid enough.

Turner obviously got the goal but other than that I'm not sure why we bothered playing attackers today

Really hope we can get back to playing football worth watching, I can't be the only one who watches queens because we're supposed to be special

Of course we're special - well at least the committee are with their chandeliers.

How anyone  could have watched that game and can say anything positive about Accies is beyond anyone with eyes. We were a toothless shambles from kick off. Started the game with a shocking miss and managed to bookend it with another. (With a few in between)

We could have played until midnight and not scored. Rankinball is painful to watch and  I can not believe that anyone thinks we are progressing with this set up.

Rankin seems to think he's Pep Guardiola & can tell the team to go & try to pass the opposition to death.

Thing is we have Oli Shaw up front not Haaland & if you can't get decent service to him then he won't score.

We are so easy to play against & pose very little threat going forward as everything is so slow paced.

We have the players in the squad to not play that way so I can only assume Rankin is telling them to play like that.

It's awful to watch, ineffective as opposition managers have us sussed & will only mean more poor results - there is a reason Rankball got us relegated the last time.

Insipid.
