Flow
4-0 Paul Ritchie should be hauled of and soundly beaten with a preferably large stick! I'm sorry, but Berti Vogts should go! This is worse than cringe-worthy
onlycowdenfanhere
It's now 4-0 and I have my TV switched off. I can't watch anymore of this demorilising crap on my Wednesday night, and crap is what it is. Yeh, it's a friendly but so what? Usually I dont care what the score is in a meaningless friendly because thats exactly what it is - meaningless. However, for the first time I am annoyed, not just annoyed but upset and embarressed. The tactics, the team the performance and the management - all a shambles. I amn't one for criticising Vogts, he has a hard job, we all know that but what he has done with the defence today is downright unbelieveable and horrendous. He plays Paul Ritchie - a guy who Vogts admitted he had never heard of. A guy who hasn't had a game for Scotland since 1999. A guy who plays for Walsall for christ sake! Then he partners him with Stephen Caldwell - a guy who has just went on loan to Leeds Utd where he has had his 1st game in god knows how long. Now, why wasnt Andy Webster (a young guy who has proved he can play at this level) and Christian Dailly played together??? Another thing, he wanted to play Graeme Murty in the 2nd half. Fine. Take off your RB and put him on. No, Vogts takes off his LB and puts his RB to LB so he can play some pishy 29-year old never been at RB. Can someone tell me the sense in that?? The only saving grace is how Dickov played. He put in 100% effort and I was impressed by him, however, the midfield was bypassed and no service of any great quality was given to him or Miller. Another query. Why wasn't one of our best players on from the start?? - McFadden? Was this an experimental game? If so, Vogts really should take a look at himself. He's has 2 years to experiment. These are the games where he puts out his best 11 (or as close to it) and then he can change things. Tonight was a devastating, humilating, embarrassing defeat and I only hope when I put my TV back on, the scoreline isn't anymore than when I switched it off. Guest dirtybasturk
The 11 on the park: Douglas McNamara Dailly Ritchie Caldwell Murty Webster --------------------------------------------------- McFadden Gallagher Dickov Miller a 6-0-4 formation! Is this why we pay this fud 500k a year?
Div
Who cares ? It was only a friendly. Bertie could lose every friendly 6-0 for all I care - it's in the competitions where the results count and his record there was not too shabby. I seem to remember us beating Holland 1-0 not so long ago. Friendlies should be banned or played behind closed doors - they are the most pointless events from a spectators point of view. I hate watching St.Mirren in friendlies and I hate watching Scotland in friendlies. It's a bit like alcohol free lager. Totally futilie and pish. Guest dirtybasturk
His record in qualifying isn't particularly good. We were in the easiest qualifying group in history, we scraped into the play-offs and got gubbed by Holland. He clearly hasn't got a clue about tactics or about the players at his disposal. He can f**k off.

We don't have any great players. But most of them are no worse than most of those in the Welsh team. Gareth Taylor, Paul Parry, Rob Edwards, Andy Melville, Page, Crossley etc. etc. The foreigners situation doesn't stop Belgium, Netherlands & Switzerland from regularly qualifying for tournaments. froggybinos
Am usually fairly calm on making decisions, but not this one. BERTI MUST GO!!! Lets face it we are now on a par, if not worse than the likes Azerbaijan. Wales full strenght team beat them 4-0 last season, we got gubbed 4-0, by a team who were missing star players like Hartson, Jones, Bellamy, ect... We had no organisation, we had nothing. Yes we looked ok going forward, didnt score though. The fact is, with the players on both sides tonight. We had more experienced players, playinbg at a higher level, and we got gubbed. Hartson - looked dodgy for 3rd and 4th goals McNamara - played out of position in second half, got half marks Naysmith - had an absolout nightmare Ritchie - mmm...looked very flat footed, and partly to blame for all 4 goals Cladwell - cant exactly remember seeing him to much, didnt make to many howlers though Pearson - way out his depth, didnt want to be there fletcher - never hid, always looking for things, however, tryed to do to much himselve, though we cant blame him for the pish he had around him cameron - worked hard, average performance daily - got around putting in toguh challenges, but gave the ball away way to often dickov - scotland man of the match, our outstanding performer, held the ball up well, hustled back, created space for himselve and others, al round good performance miller - worked tirleslly, but to little effect
codfish
Guys, I'm not saying that you're wrong to call for Vogts' head, but let's be realistic for a second. There's no way that he'll get sacked before the summer, so hold off until then. We've got Romania at the end of March - the players will read the bad press they get, so there should be a reaction from them...if they get picked. Now for the main reason...our youth set-up. Since Berti came in, there's been a number of good youngsters coming through. Maybe a coincidence, but the under 21's are also performing better than in recent years. If Vogts goes, Bonhof goes, so we take a step back. Yes, we were awful tonight, but it was only a friendly. Hopefully Berti will have learned a lot about some of the players that disgraced the blue jersey tonight, and the national team can be better for it. onlycowdenfanhere
Hartson - looked dodgy for 3rd and 4th goals Hartson?? If your going thru the team you surely mean Douglas...mind you he's as fat as hartson
Guest baldfred
I agree with the pieman. Friendlies are a waste of time (from a supporters point of view). When we start the World Cup qualifying and get humped off Norway and Slovenia then I'll be called for Berti's head.
