Its born out of what were previoulsy (probably) genuine, heartfelt wee gestures but has now (IMO) become just another game for the EPL money machine. Liverpool do loads of it. Andy Robertson had one last year, Klopps has had a couple. I think Milner and Henderson too. Maybe I am over cynical, I just cant be bothered with this shit.
