Firefox, which is a rebuilt Mozilla engine, is easily the best and the one I use as defaut.

One of the best things about it is it's tabbed browsing, so you can have lots of pages open from the one session. It also has popup blocker as standard (I don't think I have seen a popup in months) which if you need it can be easily turned off for specific sites. Most of the hacks written by bored script kiddies take advantage of the security holes in IE, so you don't need to worry about them.

The browser is fast, stable and is a better renderer than IE and is far more w3c compliant than IE will ever be.

The only downside is that some pages are so badly written that they look wrong on Firefox, but that isn't the browsers fault, that is people who don't understand how html/css and javascript should be written (a pet hate as it is what I do for a living).
