So where in this set-up would his shity Falkirk mob end up, considering they just got pumped by what was effectively a pish Czech outfit, considering his anti-Scotland rants about us being shite every time we go abroad? A British FA shold never even be considered, the four home nations should be exempt form this as it was here football was invented, perfected and given to the world through the four different sides. Not only would it be an insult to our footballing history, it would also sign over one of the few things we are on our own in to a nation with little or no appreciation of what we have done for them over the last 300 years. If the nations unified for the olympics, FIFA would take away our individual status, and theres no more scotland which would be a travesty. I personally dont think there will be a british team. Firstly, and i dont know if this has changed, but you actually have to qualify to play in the olympics. In Europe this is done by the 4 best teams in the under 21 championships qualifying. In around 1996 Scotland actually qualified for the olympics (when we got to the last 4 in european under 21 championships) However we werent allowed to enter the olympics unless we went as britain, and that would get people wanting to put in the best british players for the tournament, *ofcourse england, wales and northern ireland hadnt qualified, so their teams werent good enough*. This meant that scotland gave up their right to participate, giving the spot to the Czech Republic (or something like that) who went on to be the best placed european team in the atlanta olympics. Therefore there wont be a british team at the olympics, no matter what. There wont be a british football team ever. If there is then the people who invented football will be turning in their graves............... (think of the heroes for scotland, those who scored winning goals against England......... played well against England..... best ever game ive been to, against England at wembley...... all these things woudlnt of happened, all the games would be played at Wembley (who would go there from Scotland every game????) we would be lucky if we had more than 1 scottish player in the squad..... I think ill stop going on about it now. If there is anyone who would like to argue a case against feel free, im sure ill win). p.s. Olaf, if you are english, from say southampton, and was born about 100 miles further south youd be french...... doesnt matter if you couldve been born somewhere else, fact is you werent, so you take up that nationality and should be proud..... For me it would be the same sort of situation as if Queens were ever to go bust. I would simply cease to follow any national team (apart from whoever is playing Britain). I'd rather see Scotland get humped in every game from now until eternity that merge with anyone else. And it's not just some settlerwatch/Jacobite type thing either. The SNP is a party every single person in scotland, all the other you mentioed are movements or parties for one nationality. There is a huge difference.
