StewartyMac
This could be a good one. Germany's one man team against the bickering Dutch. Kluivert is peed off because the little general prefers Van Nistelrooy in attack. Funny seeing Van Hooijdonk in the pictures from the training ground. It would need some sort of catastrophe before that mercenary got anywhere near the starting xi. Imagine having Kluivert and Roy Makaay both on the bench, frightening. I reckon the Dutch will win, Germany only seem to play well if ballack plays well, and he's been a bit ordinary in their last few games stretching back to the 2 games against us. Thoughts? Neilly
I think and hope that the Dutch get off to a flyer as I've backed them to win the championship and also for RVN to be top scorer. 3-1 Holland I reckon
Guest Ruggy Bairn
I've gone for 3-2 Holland. Other bets, Germany HT, Holland FT. And Germany to score/miss a penalty. A fool and his money, and all that.
Guest SurreySaint
2-1 Holland in a very tense and tight game. Should be a cracker, cannot wait
RiG
I'm with you Kev. I have got to say that the Germans are a shadow of the team they once were and I would expect the Dutch to just get by in this game. However, the Czechs are certainly my favourites to go through. Div
Think this will be a tight one. The Dutch are a better team man for man but will not be as well organised as the Germans. 1-1 I think tonight - with at least one red card
David W
This will not be a football match. Horsey has already said that it's a war, and not a game. Doesn't that incite the crowd a bit Anyway, I'll say the game will end up abandoned. I'm serious
Thomas_sjfc
Should be a good game. I reckon Holland will win it but it will be close. When you consider the "relationship" the two countries have with each other i think there could be some incidents, lets just hope they have a decent referee for that game. Deco
I think it will be a boring, defencive game tonight. Both teams scared to attack. 1-1.
An Sionnach
This will not be a football match. Horsey has already said that it's a war, and not a game. From The herald football diary today - Ruud van Nistelrooy told a Dutch newspaper that Holland will use the Second World War, when Holland was invaded by Germany, as extra motivation in Porto tonight. Unsurprisingly the Germans are not happy and Berlin-based tabloid BZ has retaliated giving 74 reasons why Germany will win tonight, a win being the outcome of the 1974 World Cup Final - nice touch, that Among the reasons are "your orange shirts cause blindness" "you snatch all the sun-loungers at holiday resorts" (that's rich coming from the Germans )and "your coffee shops have a strange odour" The final insult was "the holes in your cheese are bigger than the holes in your defence" which isn't really going to worry Holland because, when you think about it, that's a compliment Whatever, I predict blood on the grass before half-time. Mind you, it all depends on the ref, I suppose. Should be fun anyway
Deco
1-0 Germany after 32 mins, Torsten Frings.
Neilly
Torsten Frings just to be pedantic Holland are bloody woeful and can't defend the in swinging ball from corners and free kicks, hence the goal. They need to play two up front with two widemen, the system just isn't working. Bring on Makaay for Cocu or Davids, both are ineffectual and there no need for the two of them there anyway

miketheheadlesschicken
They need to play two up front with two widemen, the system just isn't working. Yeah. Advocaat made an arse of choosing the team. Zenden shouldn't have been anywhere near the pitch and Sneijder should have started. They need to take Cocu off for Makaay and play 4-4-2.
