Golfers Thread

Went out last night in the knowledge that there might be a couple of heavy showers. Instead got treated to a couple of torrential downpours both lasting 30-45 minutes. Admittedly I'm pretty much a fair weather golfer but I can't remember the last time I played in conditions like that. Walked off on the 10th by which stage the greens were like this

Could pretty much repeat this post word for word for last night (apart from the 3rd place finish).

Now down to a new low handicap index of 4.9. Chuffed.

Well done.  My handicap is ticking the other way - I got as low as 8.4 but had one outstanding (sub-par) round that has since come off.  Now at 10.7 and my form is not great!

Currently 75 players under par at The Renaissance Club, even with some fairly poor weather forecast for tomorrow it's going to be tough for anyone who is 2 or 3 over to make the cut.

Bye bye Victor then

Is it being covered on tv anywhere?

Early starters making the most of the calm conditions so far with the forecast rain not hitting until later.

Scheffler, Hovland and Lowry a combined 10 under thru 8 holes.

Those 3 are now a combined 19 under with 3 holes to play, and they've all missed very holeable putts.

7, 8 and 9 will test them out but 3 great rounds.

Watched 7 holes this morning and he was striping the ball

What does that actually mean?.....been playing golf for 50 years and not once has a playing partner said this but have noticed some of the You-tuber golfers say it lately.  Hitting it straight, long?

Getting it down the middle of the fairway as far as I know.
