The Naitch
So am I right in saying anyone who'd qualify twice (ie two finals), their second spot goes to the highest non-qualified OoM player? If that happens and all the other runners up have made it too then, yeah, they'll give one of the automatic places to the highest non-qualifier in the OOM. If we use this year's tournaments as the template then all the finalists would make it plus Wade, Newton and Pipe from the OOM.
Davis Love III
For the 2006 edition, the PDC World Championship changed to its present format of a 64 player first round. Here was the Top 32 going into that Championship eight years ago. BOLD = Still in Top 32 (Ranking in 2013 in Brackets). 1. Colin Lloyd (24) 2. Phil Taylor (1) 3. Ronnie Baxter (19) 4. Roland Scholten (57) 5. Peter Manley (n/a) 6. Wayne Mardle (n/a) 7. Kevin Painter (13) 8. Andy Jenkins (56) 9. Denis Ovens (40) 10. Mark Dudbridge (65) 11. John Part (25) 12. Mark Walsh (29) 13. Dennis Priestley (55) 14. Alan Warriner (n/a) 15. Terry Jenkins (17) 16. Lionel Sams (n/a) 17. Steve Beaton (22) 18. Bob Anderson (n/a) 19. Dave Askew (n/a) 20. Adrian Lewis (3) 21. Dennis Smith (49) 22. Chris Mason (206) 23. Alex Roy (84) 24. Alan Caves (n/a) 25. James Wade (6) 26. Wes Newton (8.) 27. Eric Clarys (n/a) 28. Steve Maish (135) 29. Jamie Harvey (n/a) 30. Colin Monk (n/a) 31. Matt Clark (91) 32. Darren Webster (42) Just 11 of those 32 players remain inside the PDC's Top 32. A further illustration of how far things have changed/enhanced since then.
Marshmallo
Never knew Colin Lloyd used to be a former world number 1, has this ever been mentioned when he's on TV? In addition - Mark Dudbridge lol. Absolute jobber of the highest order. -
Davis Love III
Never knew Colin Lloyd used to be a former world number 1, has this ever been mentioned when he's on TV? He lost in the first round that year to Gary Welding... Lloyd was still number one a year later, when he lost to Barney in the second round 4-3 after being 3-0 up. Jaws was never quite the same after that loss...

Davis Love III
I've noticed a shift in Wade's mood this week. He looks more alert during the walk-ons, smiling and interacting with the crowd, and he is even speaking in a more positive fashion. Reflective of his condition, but he seems to be in a better place than he was a few weeks ago.
taurus
Ye noticed that as well , possibly came off whatever he was on ?
Davis Love III
Ye noticed that as well , possibly came off whatever he was on ? It depends, he certainly could have changed his medication. Unfortunately identifying a positive treatment is very often just a case of trial and error.
Marshmallo
This is one of the strangest games I've ever watched. One of my top 5 or 10 dreams in sport is for James Wade to leather Phil Taylor on stage. I'd rather he did it than anyone else. -
Desert Nomad
Love this semi lineup. Hopefully Lewis can take Taylor, if not we have Thornton who doesn't fear the feeler and Waites who is as cool as anybody I've seen on stage. Tomorrow should be good.
Marshmallo
I think Taylor beats Lewis in a classic and Thornton steamrolls Waites. -
Davis Love III
As far as I can tell, with two Pro Tour events remaining - these are the 16 players who would presently qualify unseeded for the World Championship. Marshmallo
I really like darts, a lot. But is there any need for these matches to be best of 31? Also, why didn't I bet on Thornton when I saw he was the outsider for this? -
ditots
Thornton needs to concentrate on his throwing instead of shouting at himself after every shot. The game is his to loose Waites is hardly on fire.
Todd_is_God
why didn't I bet on Thornton when I saw he was the outsider for this? To be fair, he was only evens
Rugster
To be fair, he was only evensI think he meant for the tournament. Thought we were getting a 9 darter there. Sorry Todd is God, just re-read that, he did mean the match! Edited November 17, 2013 by Rugster
ditots
Bloody hell. Waites is playing a blinder now. Clever money must be on Waites now.
Marshmallo
This has turned into a belter, I'm still picking Thornton though. -
