Eh. It would take exactly the same time to set up a line out than the scrum. There was 79 on clock. You are making absolutely no sense. He had no idea what he was doing he had a brain fart.
Can't believe you are even arguing on this emoji23.png

You can take a line out as quickly as you want to. It takes much more time to set up a scrum.

Not if you boot the ball into the crowd you can't. You stating that the French guy kicking the ball out was some sort of plan is single handedly the most ridiculous comment I've ever read on this thread [emoji23]

You just need to get your hooker to the touchline and get the numbers in. That's why the defensive team are always in first.

Have you forgotten your hissy fit on Saturday? Or any of your dozens of other tantrums?

Dodson? I doubt he’d walk away from the squad for a gripe with one of the suits.

Possibly given family history. The stories seem to indicate Townsend hasn't been all that involved. Although you don't know what has gone on and will probably only find out a few years later!

You could also take the view that it is the exact same squad that finished the prep from the Ireland game, so maybe going for continuity from the last couple of weeks carrying over into the England game.

Its more likely we will see him back after the England game if at all, although how long you can ignore one of hte few world class players we have if we lose 2 on the bounce

Let’s not pretend that Russell is the saviour of Scottish rugby, incredibly talented yes! Capable of touches of genius yes! He’s also been stand off for a number of years now when Scotland as a collective have achieved the sum total of f**k all! He’s also prone to brain farts that cost territory and ultimately points over the course of 80 minutes.

Hastings performed well enough on Saturday and is more than capable of producing the goods on Saturday. Let’s get behind him rather than bemoaning the status of someone who for whatever reason isn’t available.

Before Russell came on the scene tries were as rare as hen's teeth for us. Judging by Saturday it's very possible we can slip back down to that level.

Let's not pretend that Russell is anything other than a massive miss. I understand that he's obviously breached discipline but it needs sorted. England look beatable and we need to be inventive and that's the spark you get from Russell.

Lest we forget what he has done against England in the past.

He was guaranteeing the win. He knew exactly what he was doing.
Hmmm. Turns out he didn't know what he was doing. He thought the clock said 79.58 or 59 when he put his head in the ruck, and he assumed it would pass 80 minutes by the time he kicked it.

I had thought he must have got the time wrong, just due to the way he was celebrating when he kicked it out. If there was over a minute left there is no way you would kick it dead. You would go for the lineout as much less likely to give away a penalty or try at a lineout on the 22 compared to a scrum on your own 5.

England team for Saturday, but just like last weekend it feels like there us something there we can have a go at. England's scrum was strong at the weekend, but they may miss Marler. That fullback was honking so we need to target him, and England do look a lot less dangerous without their big ball carriers. Going to be a tough afternoon, but not a lost cause.

Last year Jones got the tactics spot on in the first half. Scotland set up to deal with big runners close to the breakdown, which is Englands normal game, but Jones changed it to attack wider and we had nobody to defend as everyone was set up defending close to the breakdown, and we were 2 or 3 tries down before we changed things on the park defensively, nevermind how the attack was going.

Looking at the England team I dont htink they know how they want to play. its a small backrow by normal England standards, but having 6 forwards on the bench it looks like they are wanting to play a forward dominated game.

For Scotland I am expecting the same team as last time (although maybe starting McInally for Brown) and as long as the forwards put in the same shift as last time against Ireland then we stand a chance of winning
