3 tries for Glasgow already, night and day compared to the first half last week.

Third came from Harley collecting a failed attempt at a box kick where the Connacht scrum half basically fell over as he went to kick it!

The men from the west doing a lot better here !!

Glasgow hold on, after an improved second half from Connacht, and some seriously questionable refereeing, summed up by him giving the wrong info to the TMO after a touch judge intervention for foul play.

I think we were shown the incident with the Connacht #20 but he told the TMo it was the Glasgow #18 that he was looking for

Yip - he kept saying Glasgow 18, despite the report being foul play by White 18. You could argue he was pointing out who was on the receiving end, but he made it vague to say the least.

He had stopped penalising Connacht for anything by that point, even Beattie was pointing out the players being wiped out outside the breakdowns. The scrum was fair enough, we got a doing there, but he seemed incapable of applying decisions consistently at the breakdown.

Of course, by consistently, I mean realising that there were two teams playing.

That was absolutely bewildering tbh, no wonder the TMO was confused, the instructions he was given were extremely vague apart from the timing of the incident.

Thought Blair, Ashe and Harley were excellent, the early part of the season is going to be very tough for Glasgow with more than a full starting 15 on world cup duty. Very steep learning curve for the younger players.

Had a quick look at the fixtures and it is odd. Neither team plays the previous weekend and the Monday and Tuesday before are completely free.

Would've made more sense, and dawn a bigger gate, had they played it on Monday or Tuesday at 8pm.

Can only assume it's being played at half two to appeal to the Japanese TV audience?

They haven't worried too much with the NZ TV audience, the Argentina game which is the most important one in the group kicks off at 345 in the morning here.

I think I was talking shite. Hadn't noticed Japan were playing this weekend which rules out Tuesday as a viable date, and Scotland are playing next weekend which rules out Thursday.

So, basically, there had to be three games on Wednesday and ours gets the short straw, as far as kick-off times go.

Are Scotland likely to play a second-string team, or play a full team then rest players against the USA? We should still be able to get bonus point wins against Japan and America even if we do rotate a few, shouldn't we? Not really sure on the respective qualities of Japanese/American rugby.

Ok I'm confused. Japan won so get 4pts, South Africa lost and get 2? I know they are bonus points but still it looks ridiculous.

In the RWC it is

4pts for a win

2 pts for a draw

1 bpt for scoring 4 or more try's

1 bpt for losing by less than a converted try

The French have a different way for the try scoring bpt in that you have to score 3 more trys than the opposition and the losing difference for the other one is to lose by less than a unconverted try.

NRL Grand Final this Sunday is an all Queensland one with Brisbane Broncos v NQ Cowboys, they finished 2nd & 3rd on the ladder. Broncos took the Roosters apart on Friday night and the Cowboys outsmarted the Storm in Melbourne on Saturday night. Hoping the Cowboys win as it would be their first GF victory and also great for Jonathan Thurston to almost end his career. Whatever it should be a cracking game.

Same, am hoping for a NQ win purely on the JT factor.
