There’s a million and one hazy hypebeast efforts here, but I do know that I’ll avoid anything with Nelson sauvin: it has a grapey note that I don’t like, and some folks don’t like sabro because it’s got a coconut thing going on. I have never managed to find an example of Sabro in any shops. Probably have to order online. Want to try it but haven't had the balls to knock out a 5 gallon batch with it in case its shite.

Overtone always list the hops on the can, yeah. I only recently discovered Sabro and I quite like the coconut kick. Anyway, as I said, another new Overtone tonight and it's their 10% Big Yin. It's good gear.

The best thing I’ve had with it was a Pipeworks pineapple milkshake DIPA which was phenomenal; it did have actual pina juice in it and it played fantastically with that. Le Tout P'ti FC
Somebody here was asking about beers with these "Bros" bottle tops.Found this bottle in Eskbank Trading, a new beer to me. It's a typical wheat beer, but a bit tart. Quite drinkable. Eskbank Trading is also stocking Overtone. Four or five lines in, stocks were a wee bit low, so they clearly have their fans in Midlothian too. Really good selection of beers in that shop. I had a look at Barry's Southside* on Twitter, and I reckon Eskbank Trading is stocking most of the same range. Really good selection of German beers.Went in for a greetings card and came away with £40 of beer! Forgot to buy a stamp for said card. What a failure.* Stockist of rapidly disappearing Irn Bru Sour.
Hillonearth
Triple Lemon from Top Out... lemon zest/lemongrass/lemon thyme. Safe to say there's a hint of lemon in there. Edited February 27, 2021 by Hillonearth
Craig fae the Vale
Really good NEIPA from Arbor, and I know I'm not the first on here to enjoy this one. Special points for the full pint can!

Honest_Man#1
Might be opening myself up to abuse here, but personally I am not a fan of beers at 7%+. Don’t mind it if I’m only having one or two, but feel the 5-6% mark is the sweet spot for flavour and drinkability if you’re having a few. Any less tends to be a bit watery and flavourless, but once it’s into the 7+ it’s not for me. The sharpness of the flavour gets lost in the booziness. Fine for a first pint, two max before moving into something else. Sticking to that strength of beer or lager for more than a couple of pints is a sure-fire sign of someone out to get pished and end up a useless mess that’s falling asleep at the table/bar/in a corner. I’d say between 4-6% is just about right though as there are some very nice 4%ers on the market too. West 4 being a particular favourite of mine.
Arch Stanton
Perlenbacher, Lidl's German lager. It's, well, perfunctory. Doing the job.

Wid drink again. They did an advert during the CL semi finals where you could win anything from 4 cans to 24 cans by scanning a QR Code on their advert. I won a 12 pack, received it a week later. The next day they sent a 24 pack by what I presume was an accident. Was absolutely delicious.

Plenty of high alcohol beers like a lot of the Belgians etc are fantastic but are big and heavy and can only really be enjoyed one or two at a time, even leaving aside the fact that they will leave you in a puddle of your own piss if you have too many.

It’s actually a typo from me there, meant to put 4-6%. Agree there’s plenty of 4-5% beers I think are great, especially if I’m planning to have a good few of them.
Archie McSquackle
Generally agree but I do like 1 or 2 like an Old Jock or McEwan's Champion to finish the evening. Anyway, tonight's offerings:Wasn't particularly taken with the Erdinger but the others are regular favourites. Washed down with some delicious Bunnahbhain 12yo and a lovely Glenrothes 10 before that.
