atfccfc
Rossvale V St Roch's in the West of Scotland division one at Petershill park. 15th V 8th in the league. Wasn't sure what to expect in this one as both teams seemed hopelessly out of form. But it felt like a decent game for the level. Both teams tried to attack, albeit with long high balls. Rossvale started off the better in the game only for The Candy to take a 20th minute lead when a corner came in and wasn't cleared , a header from number 5 found the forward unmarked in the 6 yard box to stab past the goalie. St Roch's then had the better of the rest of the half to go in 1-0 up in front of a healthy crowd of around 300+ The second half seen Rossvale play with a bit more intent and on 54 minutes they won a penalty when the defender was penalised for holding. The forward made no mistake and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. The match then became a bit niggly with a lot of bookings but also both teams trying to win the match. St Roch's had a goal disallowed for offside with about 10 minutes to go. Though he looked onside to me and with no assistant referees who is to know?! Though the Rossvale official who was acting as assistant referee seemed relaxed enough.. The St Roch's player who's goal was disallowed then said a little too much to the referee and was shown a straight red! This gave Rossvale the opportunity to go for the win and hopefully a much needed 3 points. Which they found when substitute number 14 was played through and shot past the St Roch's goalkeeper to give them a much needed win and well deserved win. £7 entrance no programme Edited February 11, 2023 by atfccfc Spelling and grammar
Guest
Brora Rangers 0-1 Fraserburgh Up north for the weekend so set a new north record for the groundhopping. Heard a lot about Brora, obviously, and have seen them play away once or twice but a first visit to Dudgeon to see one of the worst games of football I've ever seen. First incident of note after 70 odd minutes when Brora have a goal controversially ruled out for offside. Broch score the winner 5 minutes later. Dudgeon Park is a bit basic even by Highland League standards. Very picturesque from the right angle but not up to much. Won't be rushing back.
Jute
Musselburgh Ath 3-1 Penicuik Ath. 2nd v 6th in East Premier League. Musselburgh were better team in first half and should have been more than 2 ahead at half time. Penicuik better in second half and got game back to 2-1 before a dubious (from my angle anyway) penalty for Musselburgh secured the win. Marten
Larkhall Thistle 1-2 Rutherglen Glencairn, Scottish Junior Cup QF At a packed Gasworks Park I watched a game that's much closer than what I expected considering the league positions of both clubs. The guests took the lead through a penalty after 20 minutes. The hosts did get chances in the first half but didn't convert them. Early in the second half they got their deserved equaliser and from that moment on the game really could go any way. Glencairn scored a second, but Larkhall kept pushing. They were really close in the end to what would (in my opinion) have been a deserved equaliser. But it didn't happen so the visitors are through to the semis. Another absolutely lovely, old, ground. forfarton
Hermes 2 Kirrie Thistle 0 Quest Engineering Cup Beautiful, if rather unseasonal, weather for this fixture. Hermes don't make it easy to find the entrance to the ground, which is hidden at the back of an industrial estate car park. The grass embankment along one side of the pitch gives a good view. Kirrie were not at their best; Hermes defended solidly and had the best chances during the match. A goal shortly before half time gave them the advantage and they built on this in the second half to finish as deserved winners. I was driving around that industrial estate for what felt like ages until I found where I had to go.

Crow
I headed along to Edinburgh Eagles 20-30 Saddleworth Rangers yesterday in the Challenge Cup at the Royal HS at 1.15pm so just headed after to ... Spartans 3-0 Edinburgh University @ Ainslie Park Stadium . A very comfortable 3 Lowland League points for the title chasing home side. 1-0 up at the break, 2 more followed in the 2nd half and only some good saves from the Uni keeper prevented more. Crowd 150.
tamthebam
Up at Tannadice on Saturday. I used to prefer Tannadice to Dens because Tannadice had proper angled drenchlighting (for those appreciative of the DEVIL'S ILLUMINATION). But now I'm old and daft and (whisper it) prefer Dens to Tannadice because it's old, ramshackle and has four proper floodlight pylons (even if they're not drenchlights). But Tannadice is a perfectly acceptable ground. The seats are a bit narrow in the George Fox Stand though- on one side I had two genteel maiden aunt types who tutted softly at the Arabs ineptitude. But on the other side was a wide chap and I felt a bit squashed. The view was good though compared to some grounds. There was a lot of seethe in the GFS and a lot of joy coming from the Killie fans in Jolly Jim Fair Play Stand. The match wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed my day out. Crow
Boroughmuir Thistle 0-5 Celtic @ Meadowbank Stadium on Sunday. Women’s Scottish Cup Round 5. The holders ahead in the 1st minute and, although the home side battled hard and had a couple of chances, they ran out confortable winners to reach the Quarter Finals. Craig fae the Vale
Aberdeen University 0-1 Heriot-Watt University. BUCS Scottish Tier 1 action. Not much to write home about, but Heriot-Watt worthy winners. Bit of an adventure getting here. Showed up at Hillhead Centre for the game to find no one about and clearly no game taking place. Legged it over to Balgownie to watch Aberdeen's second team play Dundee only to find out that this game had been switched here. Ground isn't even on the Futbology app, so will need to wait to log it once I get the ground added!

Guest
Largs Thistle 1-2 Clydebank West Premier for us today with the Bankies down at the Seaside. Couldn't see a thing but the seaside none the less, something Falkirk fans are familiar with I believe. Barrfields is good, this will be cracking on a sunny day. Plenty room behind the goals, formally greyhounds or speedway? Game itself wasn't wonderful but two late Nicky Low goals sparked wild celebrations in the away end. Well worth a visit, maybe come in the summer though. P.S. one for Clyde and Dumbarton fans, Martin McNiff has an doppelganger that plays for Largs, and as far as I'm aware he isn't related
