He's better than Rankin. -

On Tommy Goss he's noticeably scored more goals this season than any QOTS player this season obviously had a bad spell before but I don't think that would be a bad signing for any league 1 club next season. -

Surprised to see some of the negatively around this appointment considering he's gotten Annan to League 1 for the first time in their history What were some Queens fans expecting would you rather have one of the footballing dinosaurs or another untested manager? This is a good appointment imo I would happily of took Murphy at Accies -

Think that's the correct appointment for QOTS a big summer ahead for them as they look to at the very least make the promotion playoffs. It's a huge loss for Annan though to lose the man who's taken them to League 1 for the first time in their history and I can see them going back down next season. -

I would say Kilday and Fergus currently however i wouldn't be against having Jamie or Fergus at right back over Tumilty and have the other at center half -

Think that's a bit harsh on Kilday he's rarely put a foot wrong all season imo and I think Kilday, Fergus and Longridge have all played a huge part on why we he have the joined least goals conceded in the league I thought Kilday done well last night as well. I do agree with what you said about McGowan though -
Alloa v Accies Groundhog Day Part One
Ian Mcleod replied to Ye Olde Hamiltonian's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
I thought we were good in the first half last night but the start to the second half was really disappointing Alloa deservedly went 2-1 up and at one point it wouldn't have been surprising if they had made 3 or more Rankin's subs again were terrible how are Martin and Barjonas getting subbed off when Williamson and Davidson remain on the pitch I've actually quite liked Williamson so far but he was rotten last night with Davidson I don't even get why he's playing as he's ineligible if us and Inverness make the final and he's not really impressed me at all since he signed doesn't look interested to me. Again he brings guys like Winter and Redfren on over Hastie and Kirk and Morgan didn't even make the bench. I thought both Henderson and O'Hara were excellent last night and kept us in the game with their performance. Owens again showing that he's probably our best player when he came on needs to start on Saturday ahead of McGowan but Rankin won't drop him. Kilday was also good last and i think Smithy done well last night really impressed me the last few games he's played in either him or Hastie should start on Saturday. -
Alloa v Accies Groundhog Day Part One

In a scenario that QOTS had gotten relegated this season then you went on and kept Bartley for next season and finished 2nd in league 2 and were likely to bottle the playoffs what would you been saying? -

I strongly disagree with that and in my opinion he's been far the worst out of the bunch he's gotten us relegated from the championship in a league which had 2 poor part time sides in it in his first season. Finished 16 points behind Falkirk admittedly they have been a great side and obviously deserved to win the league however we still shouldn't have finished almost 20 points behind them up until now Rankin has completely failed for 2 seasons he could sort of semi redeem himself if we do go up however even if we do he's still a long way from winning the majority of the fanbase back and I don't think it's fair to say he's been more successful than previous managers who kept us in the premiership. -

I think it's fair to say both Accies and Alloa have better teams than last season so how last year's playoff went is irrelevant and like a few of Alloa's fans have mentioned they had a injury crisis last season i can remember that they had to make an early sub and the guy they brought on ended up getting injured later in the game and had to be subbed back off. You could also argue that our keeper should have been sent off for their penalty which would have killed us being 0-3 down although it would have been 10 V 10. I think over the course of the season there hasn't been much between us and Alloa and going off the games against us they definitely deserved to have finished 3rd the overall score in the 4 games between us so far has been 4-3 us which shows that there hasn't been much in it 3 of the games been won by 1 goal and the other a draw. Rankin needs to get his team selection right in these games he often gives someone like a Redfren or Winter a start if he does this tomorrow then the fans are immediately going to be on his back. I would go with Jamie Smith Tumilty Owens Kilday Longridge (if fit) Martin Barjonas Williamson Smith Rose O'Hara Think it's almost certain that he will start Lyness and McGowan and Hendrie will start if Longridge can't play be interesting to see if he plays Davidson I personally wouldn't as like I've said already if us and Inverness make the final he would be unavailable. -

We've played them 4 times this season we are well aware they're a good side. -

I see you constantly slating Murphy correct me if I'm wrong isn't this the first time you've ever been in the third tier in your history? and he's done an great job on keeping you there if you were to lose Murphy I think it's very likely that you would go down next season and I personally think you should appreciate Murphy more when he's still there as I think it's only a matter of time before he gets a FT gig. -
Accies v Kelty
Ian Mcleod replied to Ye Olde Hamiltonian's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
I thought in terms of performance wise it was our best we've played since the 5-0 at Kelty we were good in the first half admittedly started the second half quite poorly but came back into it as the game went on and finished the game really well the young players really brought some much needed energy and stuff we've not seen all season. Some of those players today showed that they have deserved more gametime than what they've been given this season I really like Liam Morgan thought Murray, Hastie and Kirk all had good games as well also thought Jamie Smith was good today I prefer him to Lyness personally. I thought Lewis Smith was comfortably the MOTM today that's the best he's played in a long time. Glad that the dead rubbers are finally over after about 3 months of them and it's finally onto the playoffs -

Obviously not surprising news with the season you guys have had a bit of a shame as I always thought Marvin Bartley would be a good manager however it's simply not worked out luckily for Bartley he isn't leaving his first job in management with a relegation on his CV but he definitely needs a couple of years back in coaching before he even thinks about a return to management. Peter Murphy seems the obvious candidate to replace him an important summer ahead for QOTS. -

In other news we officially know both games of the playoffs now after the conclusion of the championship Alloa VS Accies Montrose VS Inverness I'm glad it's Inverness who are the championship team and not Queens Park as I think Queens Park would have comfortably won against us and in the scenario that they had went down and Montrose/Alloa had won the playoffs i think Queens Park would have walked League 1 with some of the players and budget they've got at least in that scenario with Inverness they're struggling financially and will probably be in for a tough season next year if they go down. If both Accies and Inverness were to make the final then Jake Davidson won't be eligible to play I believe.
