How long can this thread continue?
Until Hibs beat Hearts 5-1 in a Scottish Cup final, I would guess.

As the final draws nearer, I can see this thread slowly dwindling away into the abyss.
Do you think so?

Lets clear something up once and for all.
If Hibs win the Scottish Cup any time soon, it won't suddenly take anything away from the Hearts fans nostalgia for that day. It will however eradicate any fucks that were given from us. Anybody who believes Hibs fans would still be angry about a cup final result after winning it themselves has massively misunderstood the attitude Hibs fans have to this competition.
If Hibs win it, I really hope Hearts fans continue to try and take the piss with this 5-1 stuff. It'd be genuinely hilarious, and to think it'd wind us up requires a scary level of narcissism.
Edit to add: I know that reads like I'm dead confident of us winning the cup, I'm not. The point I'm making is that you're implying we could never get ourselves back on top after that day, when in reality we could very, very soon.
Winning the Scottish Cup this year against that Weegie mob would be a great achievement for Hibs, but please don't try to kid yourself that that would elevate Hibs to the same level as Hearts.
Come back when you've won it three times in 15 years. Once against your city rivals 5-1 or more.

More than a year since Hibs last lost to Hearts then.
But how long will it be before a Hibs victory over Hearts can compete with the enormity of 19th May 2012 Hearts victory?
In 127 years of derbies that was the biggest one ever to come around. I have huge doubts that Hibs will even get the chance to replicate it, at least not in our lifetimes.
Happy 19th May 2012

Hate to point this out because he's a sound chap but it's worth noting that Hearts have absolutely imploded from the very second Mikey bumped this thread.
Actually, screw that
A dangerous game you're playing so close to a derby.

What a day, how can you possibly top that?

I'm thoroughly looking forward to hearing Forever Hibs take on the game.
You'll be waiting a while, he's such a shitebag.

Thought Hearts were very professional today, every player worked their socks off and showed real fight and passion. Skacel was different class and Black controlled the game.
Hibs were so woeful I actually surprised myself and began to feel sorry for their supporters after the 4th goal. How long can you keep getting humiliated by your city rivals before it really fucks you up? I've been attending Derbies for 25 years and never seen a bigger gulf in class between the teams.
Really looking forward to the victory parade in the sun tomorrow.

I would call many a Hibernian side a much, much better side than your 1998 finished third side.

Why does it matter so much?
I'm not sure it matters, but some of us find it amusing.

Scary the number of Hearts fans in the Hibs end if rumours are true.

Oh well, this cup final lark was fun while it lasted.
Loving the jambos going on about ticket sales by the way. Clearly both ends will be packed with many not getting tickets, this reeks of trying to get the usual crowd debate circle w**k in whilst they can.
I'm enjoying the prospect of lots of jambos taking a stroll down to ER on the day of the general sale to pick up some of the thousands of tickets just waiting for them to collect. Might be there a while lads.
Both ends will be packed by Hearts fans. It's the only way Hibs will sell out.

14,000. Ma sides. They never even took that to the Semi. Might be an idea to get tickets in the Hearts end though. I know 2 Jambos that have enough loyalty points but are not going due to one of them having to work and the other going on his Honeymoon.
That's very hard to believe, he's got loads of loyalty points but can't make a saturday cup final game.
You'll not get Hearts tickets on ebay, but I understand the Hibs end tickets have already appeared.

As my friendly Gers fan says above, it is good when they are confident!
For years we've been confident and Hibs have bottled it on the day.
I really can't see that changing any time soon.

Fellow Hearts fans, where's the best place to stand for the 2012 cup parade?

I thought that building had those self cleaning windows.
