According to the Falkirk Herald we have agreed a deal to bring in 2 young loanees from Premier League clubs, 1 a defender and the other a midfielder.
It also says a former player is coming back to the club.

David Marsh - what like? how many games did he play last season?
Decent enough for League 2. He was never going to get a regular game before the 2 Dunlops. Mainly used as a sub to shore things up late in a game.
You can expect to have him missing a few games in a season due to suspension.

At the meeting last night it was made clear by the board that they were unanimously against the current proposal but were broadly in favour of change which would better the game in Scotland. This did not mean allowing any one club to have more than one team in the league set up.
It was suggested that one way of making the game better would be to reform the current loan system so that more players were available to lower league sides and that development loans were scrapped. Currently lending clubs can insist on their players playing for their development sides even if the clubs they are on loan to have a game the same day. It also appears that some of the bigger club's financial demands make it unrealistic for the smaller clubs to take players on loan.
The meeting was also told that nine of the League 2 clubs are against the proposal and the other unknown club was on the swither.

Ally Roy will work hard but that's all. I wouldn't have got excited if he had come back to us in League 2.

You have forgotten about David Marsh.

He wasn't as good as rank rotten.

I still have visions of Stuart Malcolm kicking the ball straight up in the air, falling on his backside and the opposing striker slamming the ball into the net.

I'm wracking my brains for anyone who might be available at centre-back and up front and I genuinely can't think of anyone. Everyone I would have wanted to join us seems to have signed for Alloa Athletic instead! I'm really hoping Bomber and his staff can pull some rabbits out of some hats because, compared to most of the other teams in the division, it's beginning to look a little bleak.
Given our defensive record last season the signing of at least 2 centre backs should have been a priority. I am worried that we will be left with the dross or unknown quality loanees.

Colin McCabe on loan for the season from Celtic.

Whereabouts are you seeing this?
Everyone at the club talks very highly of Stuart Malcolm and his positive influence in the dressing room but, my God, he was a shocking player last term. I won't cover old ground, you can read all that elsewhere in the thread, but he looked finished at League 1 level and completely past his best. Mistake followed mistake followed mistake.
Can't see him joining another club in this division but I could imagine him doing a job for someone like the Shire in the Lowland League.

Stuart Malcolm away. Doesn't want dual playing/coaching role - wants to keep playing.

Based on what we saw last night we should put the pitch rent up and tell Hearts to keep their young players.

The Shire have to play on Wednesday if only to be fair to their players and supporters as they are obviously running the risk of a 15 points deduction and season over. They should also send the bill for the game to the SFL and sue them if they don't pay.
Please Shire see sense and play.
