  1. Shame on Grado for being a success eh? Don't kid yourself. TNA are paying him a healthy sum in comparison to the wages of any UK worker in any Indy company in the country
  2. I recall an interview/podcast where he spoke of the injury itself. It required 18 months of rehab. Most guys jump back in a month later. He took the risk and took the time out. He said people thought he was nuts and he got heat for walking away from what was said to be a big program with jester. Looks like the risk is gonna pay off because that's about 2 years since he was injured and he isn't even 30 yet. Understandably probs out of shape a bit. Maybe take him the rest of this year to regain that. After that I guess we have ourselves a star? EDIT: think I might have heard this story on his sit down with Lionheart. It was great, a good 2 hours long IIRC
  3. At the end of the day though, Red Lightning is a wrestler first and foremost. and a prominent character that they couldn't afford to NOT have on shows while he was injured, so this whole GM into owner thing was obviously a way to utilise him even though he isn't physically wrestling. EDIT: I also feel like they might be fast tracking Red back to the ring as I think they are a dead cert to lose Galloway this year at some point to NJPW or he will get an improved TNA deal with more dates.
  4. Fact is that regardless of whethe people like or dislike joe hendry....they care, and they are vocal about it. There's very few guys in icw right now who DON'T connect with the audience. Grado, Polo Promotions, Joe Coffey, Noam Dar, Red Lightning, joe hendry of course, christ even Mark Dallas. All have a right cracking interaction with the crowd in whatever it is they do. There are a couple of stragglers who just for me don't connect. Tim Wylie, Jamie Kennedy. Honestly don't see the Divers love either...he was rotten last night.
  5. I think we lose sight of the fact that these garage shows are tv tapings and it sort of all slots in and is edited to build up to bigger marquee shows like square go. The main two stories I see at the minute is Grado vs Renfrew cash in and the Dallas vs red boiling up a bit more. Looks like they are possibly teasing a ring return for Lightning based on last night.
  6. I know what you mean by that, but since Red got put in this new "owner" role he has been very much in bed with the NAK and seems to be doing the NAK favours because he needs Renfrew to get the belt off Grado. I think from the perspective of the story he is happy to just sit back and let the NAK take care of Grado, not get his hands dirty, and deal with them later. Beyond that, who knows?
  7. No idea where they thought they were gonna end up with this.
  8. Surely if The Black Label interfere it will be to help Renfrew win the belt and get the belt off Grado?
  9. Think unfortunately with the fight club taping see are gonna need to contend with "mess" as its my understanding that it's been tapes out of sync etc and not in an exact order of "week 1, week 2 etc" I'd be inclined to think that a tv deal is afoot, and this them putting the infrastructure in place and use this next few months as a learning curve and find out what works best in terms of format
  10. This is looking at being a long term thing, I can't see them leaving dar off shows for a year?
  11. https://youtu.be/Md5fKwX1vl4 Black Label in bed with NAK to get shot of Grado as champ?
  12. I know but I just think youre missing the point from that statement. It implies that Red was first of all deliberately not paying in order to alert the bank, and secondly he was redirecting all of the mail so that Dallas didnt get a hold of it. Wrestling companies in general are damned if they do and damned if they dont with this sort of thing. As if they didnt explain it as best they can, then an element of the audience would say it was nonsense because it hadnt been explained, but then another element of the audience, when given an explanation, think its nonsense anyway. Nonetheless, it looks like it could be a good long term story. I thought Dallas' wee promo on his page yesterday was pretty raw. Looking forward to Sunday now.
  13. I like telling bit where they were nice and they gave him a share but 1% less than what he would need to have any say in decision making. That's torture lol. Is it just me or are they alluding to some roster members being "silent partners"?
  14. Do you think you're some sort of smart Arse because you pick things apart and call them dumb? Superman is dumb. It's a f*ckin guy who is an alien who can fly. Batman? Dumb. Wrestling is, on the surface, dumb as f*ck. It's a bunch of pals kiddin on they don't like each other and pretending to fight for entertainment. The only dumb thing here is you. We know it's dumb but we are trying to take it for what it is...A STORY THAT SOMEONE MADE UP TO ENTERTAIN US.
  15. I like the story. You don't. Life goes on... Taken from Twitter..... Statement regarding the purchase of ICW Maryhill, Glasgow November 30th 2015 In August of 2015, discussions took place between ICW representatives and The SSE Hydro regarding a future event. Both parties arranged financial compensation and set a provisional date in November 2015. As General Manager of ICW at the time I was involved in the arrangement of a financial package due to my various connections in the financial sector. While most institutions were reluctant to help, we did find a suitable package. The package however, required ICW to leverage their assets against the amount borrowed, in the event of any problems at a later date. Payment of the loan yes, fell within my remit and while not fully my responsibility, I have to accept some liability in not meeting the terms of the loan. In Edinburgh pn Sunday the rumour was started that I deliberately missed payments in order to create this scenario. THIS IS SLANDER. SLANDER IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE. I can only put the missed payments down to ICW being busy in the months leading up to the SECC. So the bank seize the assets of the company. They were actively seeking a buyer. They saw more value in a cash sale than they did in keeping the assets of the company. Can I just note again at this point that the response to such correspondence from the bank must have been overlooked by ICW offices including myself. TO SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE WOULD BE SLANDER. The Black Label Consortium was founded in June of 2015. Since then we have worked silently (and at times not so silently) in our quest to preserve ICW for those who truly deserve the plaudits for this upstart promotion. Some stakeholders are silent and will remain silent. The fact is we were the only bidder. Our offer was generous. The bank were happy to offload ICW to us. THIS IS WHY WE WERE FOUNDED. So, on November 19th 2015 The Black Label Consortium took control of 100% of ICW. I'm a fair guy, I know the amount of work Mark Dallas has put into this company. So I gave him a share. I gave him back 49% of his company. Which means I hold a 51% stake in this company. It allows me to protect all the individual interests of The Black Label Consortium. NOTHING GOES ABOVE ME, ALL DECISIONS COME THROUGH ME. To each and every one of you. Fans, Wrestlers, Mark Dallas. You reap what you sow. Time to pick your base camp. Some of you won't be so lucky.
  16. Taken in the correct context, it's clever, and obviously starts a 12months build heading into fear and loathing 9. So for the awesomeness that should ensue from this, I'll buy in.
  17. I was there last night, the video doesn't really do the explanation of the story justice. They missed alot of it out. It's a bit of a poor video to be honest as it doesn't reflect the actual segment at all. While jester and dallas were leaving, red was still talking about grado and how his first task was to get the belt off him, describing grado as a "complete accident" It was actually quite good. As I say the video is a bit shite.
  18. Some of the guys are genuinely quiet, Wolfgang is a fairly quiet and reserved guy. Have never saw Jack Jester or Red Lightning ignore a fan. They don't actively seek fan approval or anything but two guys who will be happy to strike conversation with fans if they strike one at a show or a function. Red especially is an example of a fairly decent guy who's character is an absolute rotter. He mentioned in an interview that people were pretty rude to him because he was that convincing as a heel, he would get alot of sh*t online. Didn't he get jumped after the SECC show? What I don't like is the wrestlers actively hovering around after a show, just looking for someone to come and tell them they are great. Wrestlers in general seem like the most insecure bunch, always looking for someone to tell them they are good or re-assure them that they had a good match. As for poor experiences. Haven't had many over the years. Have been attending shows since about 2006 when I started going to SWA in Clydebank. But I find most of the ICW roster to be pretty decent guys.
  19. Don't know what people expect from the service when it is only like 4quid a month. The actual streaming quality is outstanding and constantly banging out new fresh content. I dare say one or two of the people who refuse to subscribe (not just on here, in general), don't have a problem seeding or leeching the ICW content on XWT.
