  1. Don't get me wrong, I know what it's like to lose your football club. I just struggle to have *that* much sympathy for fans who only started following a team when it moved to their town. Call it the MK Dons effect. I'm sure that there will be some people who would be quite upset to see Livingston go under. I'd certainly back them to do what the Gretna and Clydebank fans did and reform their club on the Junior or amateur leagues.
  2. No doubt some fans laughed at the Meadowbank Thistle fans when Blobby moved their club to Livingston and changed it's name. Thre vast majority of Livingston fans are 'first generation fans'. What comes around and all that... Spot-on. I won't dance on their grave like Captain Sensible, but would not mourn their passing. File with Gretna FC. Perhaps Livingston 2009 will follow Gretna 2008?
  3. That might be true but the IR will not shirk in acting. They've been after shutting down a football club for some time now. Can't think of a better club to pick!
  4. Thanks for the heads up - must get that on DVD. I went to see a French film titled 'Il y a longtemps que je t'aime' (I've loved you so long) on saturday. It stars Kristin Scott Thomas who has been released after 15 years in prison for committing a terrible crime. The film has been described as the best French film since Amelie and relies on strong human relationships and has the theme of guilt running through it. Amazing performance by Scott Thomas and a good twist at the end. 8/10
  5. The thing that must be remembered in all this is that Meadowbank Thistle was moved against the wishes of their fans in order for a West Lothian to have a football league club and a nice shiny new stadium. If the fans had been consulted and given the move the green light by the majority of those fans, fair enough. The majority of Clyde fans were happy to move to Cumbernauld as they kept their indentity and gave the club a chance to grow in a different location. Livingston is a new club. My symapthy lies with those loyal Meadowbank Thistle fans who walked away and now support Edinburgh City, another football club or don't bother with football at all. It doesn't matter how few they were, they were fucked over...FACT...END OF! Of course there is a young new fanbase at Livingston and I accept there is no pyramid in Scottish football. It still doesn't make what happened right though. It is kind of ironic that a few of the longer standing fans who are currently making noises are being called fakes by the current owners. I might not agree with what they did, but you have to have a little bit of respect for those fans who do still keep going from the Edinburgh days.
  6. A hater with just cause though. I was at the protests agaist fat blobby. Indeed. Just need to keep reminding you though.
  7. Au contraire. Wimbledon fans were so pissed off when their club was franchise to Milton Keynes, that they formed their own club, AFC Wimbledon. A club that is thriving and will be back in the English football league one day. A club that is run by the fans for the fans. A club where by being a member of the trust, you have a stake and own part of your football club. There is another way. Anyway, it seems to me that a few Meadowbank/Livingston fans have used the birth of a new club, following the death of Meadowbank Thistle to carry out business with Lavvie FC. They seem to have had their hands burnt...some more than once! A lot of the rest of the Lavvie fans are Johnny-come-late and would believe ANYTHING that any club owner told them. I file Livingston FC with the Mk Dongs - a plastic football club!
  8. Oh Dear! I'm really happy that the Queens Chairman knows lots abot coos and hasn't a clue how to turn on a computer.
  9. Due diligence and all that. B) The Italian stallion is probably worried that his £5 a game deal is not going well...what with the plastics getting humped by Queens and the shocking Scottish weather.
