  1. Finals don't come along too often, absolutely no beef with him not playing for us yesterday due to it.

I've not seen him a massive amount but not done a lot wrong. Plenty time to develop and technically looks tidy enough however nowhere near Championship level I'd suggest. I'd be happy to see him back next season but suspect the pars might want him playing higher up the levels.

  2. Not before time. An appointment which I welcomed but his behaviour since has made me completely change my mind. That said, I wish him well. Very strange it being announced so late in the evening as well I feel.

We really need someone that knows this league to take charge, if we can afford that.

  3. In a rare venture into the GN forum I stumbled across this thread having recognised the name of Madwullie. There was a few PnB Fifa tournaments organised a number of years ago that I took part in and I remember him being fairly decent at it. An absolute sin what happened to him and I can only hope his family are doing as well as can be and the kids are flourishing.

I've spent the last couple of hours on and off reading the thread from start to finish and the closer I got to the end, I kept on hoping for an update from Jimi himself, something along the lines of he was doing better than expected and things were as well as can be but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Then there's TDN's story - man that hit me so hard I can't begin to imagine what it was like for yourself, again I only hope all is as well as can be. I'm fairly recently married with a wee one on the way and the thought of going through something similar is beyond my comprehension. The story itself plus trying to put myself in your shoes made me shed a few genuine tears, which is rare for me (I don't say that with pleasure).

I'd like to thank you though. The scrabble comment resonates with me - I'm regularly putting off silly wee tasks/requests etc from my wife and they might well just be minute details in the grand scheme of things but I need to do better. I know it's not possible to have absolutely no regrets in whatever path life takes us, but I'm going to try and be...better. It's a wee boot up the arse I think I needed, so genuinely thanks for sharing such a tragic and personal story.

Strength to you and everyone else affected with this dickhead of a disease and RIP to those who have sadly passed.

  4. Can I nominate myself as taxi driver to get rid of that cretin Ross? Please and thanks.

Feeble feeble stuff. I'm never happy to see my team lose but I can safely say I'm happy for Bucks. A man who could have dug us out a hole last season had it not been for that imposter in charge.

  5. Pointing fingers and blaming is all fine and well, but there have been plenty times directors have stated they'll happily step aside if someone wants to take their place. Therein lies the problem. It's a depressing state of affairs for absolutely everyone, of that I am sure.

The community have done absolutely nothing to help the club - only the same loyal fans/directors have kept us alive for as long as this.

As has been said before, SWITCH THE TANNOY off! It's so embarrassingly bad.

Mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. Far more pressing issues but it's a genuine embarrassment how loud and shite the sound is. Turn it the f**k down.

  7. What an utterly horrendous game of football. Only one team wanted to play the right way and it wasn't us.

That said, obviously we're all delighted with that result. It clearly meant a lot to everyone on the park and it was brilliant to see the celebrations. There's a couple of the Braves players I wouldn't mind seeing in Cowden colours though, they'll be deflated tonight as they put some shift in too so fair play.

Couple of points; Alfie was an absolute animal at the back. No nonsense and effort levels that every player in the squad should aspire to (albeit plenty of effort from every player was evident today) and rightly becoming a popular player for us. He reminds me a bit of Innes Ritchie in that he's not the most technically gifted player but an absolute workhorse that does the basics of defending well.

Hoping the injury to Black isn't serious - the only one that had a bit of composure in the middle of the park when he was on.

Can we PLEASE (and I'm deadly serious) turn the PA system down a lot. It is genuinely horrendous at half time, screeching away at top volume. Absolutely unnecessary.

Very happy tonight at the result and the togetherness/fight from my team despite it being torture to watch.

  8. Just out of curiosity, how much is it to appeal?

I didn't feel Davo did anything to merit a red car at the time and this backs that up.

The officials throughout Scottish football are a complete disgrace but the 2 arse cheeks will always think they're against them of course.

  9. Not a chance in hell we'll get anywhere near that for a crowd next game. A LOT of local Rangers fans there today. So fucking sad really.

Lovelace is an outstanding talent, he'll likely go far. The tackle on him was more suited to the rugby but it certainly didn't merit a red card - it'll be interesting to see if Davidson had a dig at the boy while on the ground, it would maybe go some way to explain the daft reaction from their boy that was sent off even though he swung at Alfie (who I thought was excellent today).

We didn't lay a glove on them in the 2nd half really, mainly down to them having technically superior and fitter players but there was plenty dig about us. With a settled squad going into next season and hopefully some more decent players, I'd be hopeful of having a far better season. I'd be quite happy for Mr Ross not to be in charge though.

Who is James Blair? Someone on here ?

Doing a lot of mouthing off on Facebook about getting the board to resign and that the board are holding back others from stepping up.

Looks very much like an alias. A shitebag if you will.

Some board members have made no secret of being willing to step down but who on earth would want to take their place? Make no mistake about it, the future of the club is hanging in the balance but that is not the fault of the people running it with their hands tied behind their backs with the ownership situation and lack of bodies through the gate (over MANY years).

Paddles, shit creek etc springs to mind. I really do applaud anyone with enthusiasm at the moment.

  11. I mean, if only the £20million striker they had on the bench came on and did something...

In all seriousness, Gio is a very likeable character who may well have a top career in management and the knuckledragging mouthbreathers will be calling for his head - but it's the utter shitebags in the Rangers squad they should be aiming their anger at. Doesn't matter if you have a group of technically superior players on the park but if they can't match the fight and spirit the opposing team sitting in has, yer fucked.

That's enough of that. GIRUY bigotted twats.

Took this one in yesterday as a neutral, my first time visiting Central Park. A bit surprised to be asked for £11 for the privilege, as haven't previously come across an entry price of more than £10 at Level 5, & I think £8 at all other LL games to which I've been this season. Looks like there's a fair bit of infrastructure to maintain though, but can't help thinking that attracting 200 folk at £8, or 320 at £5 (per the Friday night football suggestion) would be better for everybody - club, fans, players, pie shop - than 146 at £11. As well as promoting the lower price offer, the lower cost would also surely attract more paying punters.

On to the game, looked like the pitch decreased the potential for either side to be consistently playing attractive football on the deck, but of what was played, Cumbernauld were much the better in that department; but too much was in the middle third of the pitch, & they struggled / failed to a) get in behind the Cowdenbeath defence out wide to turn them & enable early crosses in behind, b) didn't have runners from midfield looking to get beyond their lone striker, & c) put every set piece delivery on the heads of Cowdenbeath's raft of tall defenders, rather than try anything different / creative.

From the Cowdenbeath perspective, it looked a team to be built on a solid backline - with Davidson being key as others have already mentioned - & a lot of hard work apart from that. Didn't seem to be a great deal of quality & creativity in the side, but if you can manage to stay in games by keeping the opposition out - somebody else posted stats on what is a decent recent defensive record - & then nick something at the end, then whilst not the most attractive way to play, if it wins you football matches then the end result justifies the means.

Plaudits also to the manager who with his side up against it in the latter stages of the first period, made a change at half-time, & then when that still hadn't stemmed the flow in the early period of the second half, made two more changes, after which Cowdenbeath looked a better side & evened things out play wise. Contrast that with Cumbernauld, who's first change midway through the second half was to bring on a holding midfielder, & only once a goal behind did he throw on an extra striker. Seemed to me that a couple of positive changes to look to keep their hosts on the back foot would have been the way to go.

So overall, fair play to Cowdenbeath for finding a way to get the three points, whereas Cumbernauld will be thinking how the hell did they manage to lose it, along with a bit of soul searching over what they could have done differently to have made it otherwise.

Very good summary. I'd forgot to mention the subs in my earlier post - Mo definitely got those correct and was a deciding factor in us winning the game.

  13. Will take that win today with open arms but some of the football was absolutely dreadful. We generally work really hard but a few players should count themselves lucky to be picking up a wage for playing football I'm sorry to say.

Lyons put a a shift in with little service from midfield and Davidson was by some distance, the best player on the park even though he looked to be in 2nd gear. He is a tremendous signing.

In spite of him being a greeting faced wee c**t, the number 7 for CC was a tidy player.

    Pretty happy tonight.
