Interesting that Belgium use Wins as the first tie-breaker, then goal difference, goal scored,

Slovakia do H2H points. i.e the teams that tie on points are ranked vs their performances against the other tied team in a mini league.

He'd just about be in and around the top 5, granted.

This is one of those things where you are going to tr and name 3 better left backs than Robertson and look very foolish imo

I'm surprised people are surprised that Arsenal bottled it.

    It's surprising.

More surprising is thon Panda boy not backing down but indeed doubling down that Andy fucking Robertson is the best left back to ever play in English football.

Utterly obscene. When the panel get together to judge P&B's wildest quotes of 2024, there's strong, strong contenders in this topic, like.

Since 1992 when English football started he is easily one of the best.

Sports Bible ranked him number 2 behind Ashley Cole. So if anyone has a completely rational hatred of Ashley Cole then it seems fair enough. Luke Shaw, Nigel Winterburn, Greame LeSaux are in the top 10. It isn't a who's who of great players.

Could see Liverpool doing a Man Utd tbh once Klopp finally leaves. Well, maybe not quite to that extreme, but that's Robertson, Salah, Van Dijk, Matip all into their 30s now. They'll be needing a succession plan for them, and their big money signings over the last few windows have not been brilliant, with the exception of MacAllister. Nunez, Konate, the Hungarian and Gravenberch have been OK at best.

Like Man utd they have owners that are only interested in the bottom line. And if they are raking in the money then there is nothing wrong even if they aren't competitive. Sell all the season tickets and cream off more from daytrippers.

John W Henry is no longer concerned about winning. The Boston Red Sox are comparitively one of the cheapest teams in MLB. They have a huge market but don't spend money to actually compete. He owns the Pittsburgh Penguins who are going to miss the playoffs 2 years in a row.

Fenway Sports Group is looking invest into the PGA Tour and an NBA franchise. More investment from them into Liverpool seems unlikely so the future doesn't look that bright for them.

I watched the game and can’t even remember this happening. It obviously happened during a replay or something and there was zero mention of it. It is up there with one of the worst decisions I think I’ve ever seen.

i'm very suspicious of the clip being cut right as Raya plays the ball because obviously if the ball was rolling then he wouldn't have take a legal goal kick.

He has not made himself bigger to block the ball, that implies a deliberate action. His arm is extended, there is no doubt about that, but that is a natural consequence of his previous action, namely an attempt to clear the ball whilst off balance.

The law for the throw-in specifically refers to a player's feet being on or behind the line - "the thrower must...have part of each foot on the touchline or own the ground outside the touchline". This is not the way it is defined for a penalty, where it is simply "must be...outside the penalty area".

Craig why don't you go be a VAR nonce in the St Mirren - Hearts thread. The Hearts pealty should have bee re-taken according to you.

Whether or not it blocks the ball is irrelevant. His hand is in a natural position for his action, because he's off balance and is trying to clear it.

I also think encroachment is for wee guys and shouldn't even be a consideration for VAR, but in what world is Gent not in the box here? His head, arm, upper body and knee are all  over the line, and the rules simply say that players should be "outside the penalty area", nothing to do with it only applying to his feet.

Gent is not in the box the same way a player is not on the park when taking a throw in when their feet are behind the line.

I get your point but surely playing Wilkinson in midfield and losing 3-0 to County fits in to this category?

Killie Away fits this category too.

There are definite Alexander vibes where we go behind a lot and players seem to dig their way out. But there is also non-Alexander vibes where we actually play some decent football.

Hopefully our squad issues of just buying guys for no reason will be over this Summer. They need to get that in check and concentrate on quality. Though we did sign that Callan guy who hasn't been near the team

Cannae whack overreacting at half time and then looking quite the fool.

I would’ve left at 2-0, and certainly after the penalty miss. Serves me right.

Football’s not really for me anymore I think.

For the best i was unable to post when the ball went through Kelly from the corner.

Even Bair was pish one minute and a hero the next. Best left as a shout and not posted.

Midfield was rank. Almost the same problem as we had at Livi. Davor and Halliday were far too slow on the ball and Theo was isolated. Good changes from Ketts. But I had seen enough after 45 minutes too.

You think he'll mention the pitch? All Motherwell goals were in the deep end.

He will be talking for about half an hour so i'm sure the pitch will come up.

FWIW I thought it was fine. A wee bit heavy but nothing to stop the game going ahead.

    Liam Kelly 😐

Moses with the debut goal. He looked okay when he came on. A few neat touches before he scored. All set up for next week so i expect Dundee to get a point against Rangers and ruin our shot at top 6.
