    From the website:  https://ptct.org.uk/about-us/ page

    Partick Thistle Charitable Trust

Works as an independent charity established in July 2011 to use the Partick Thistle name to engage, support and empower our communities through the promotion of health and well-being, football, education, citizenship and inclusion, primarily within our local community.

Partick Thistle Charitable Trust is a charity (SC042480) registered in Scotland

... So it is a charity

    Oh hello Mr Pedantic 😂

I paid half of my ST at the time called the office yesterday and got answered straight away and was able to pay the balance. No mention of whether i wanted to pay the additional amount to charity or not.

The Top Up they are suggesting is £85

25% to the Partick Thistle charitable trust, so it's not going directly to a charity.

    Exactly this.

It's a shite way to treat the supporters who gave their money to help the club through a difficult summer.

Surely the club have some sort of legal duty* to automatically give that money back if it was advertised as a full season but it is now only 3/4 a season?

Whether it is the truth or not, it certainly looks like the club is banking (literally) on the fans not wanting to take the money they are owed out of the club. That is hardly great from a PR perspective.

*not legally minded in the slightest but if it doesn't come under some mild fraud type duty, then the money should be automatically paid from a moral point of view.

I love how they are giving you the chance to Top Up your reduced season ticket, if you buy it today, but want to may 300 odd quid.

Give them their due, they've got done brass neck on them.

Do you mean for 20/21 season you need to pay full price and then ask for a refund ?

Folk who bought their season ticket back in march(?) For 20/21 did so to support the club through difficult times.

They bought a full fixture list ticket. Now that it's a reduced season they grossly overpaid, all in good faith, to support the club.

The club have now told them rather than refund the difference they overpaid, compared to the updated ST price.... They must request their refund manually, through the club.

Not been on for a couple of weeks and have just seen this post. Hopefully I can clear this up.

When the club began using the name 'Partick Thistle Family Club' they put the new club badge into the public domain. I was in the process of designing a t shirt for fundraising purposes so used the club badge. After a few weeks, when the club itself started to drop the family image in its marketing, I decided it was time for a change. However, the original 'Football Club' badge is not in the public domain so I am not allowed to use it.

redyellow.org is a fan-run fundraising site. It offers a wide range of Thistle related clothing. There are many ways to contribute money to the club. I wanted to set this up as a two-way street. The club gets money and the customer gets a good product. A win-win situation. If you haven't, please have a look.

    Phil

Thanks Phil. I know there was a few items not just a t-shirt with the Family Club Brand, as my mate has them.

They way it appeared was that the club had given you permission to use Family Club in merch in the basis that they were receiving funds.

When the family club brand then appeared on official merch it looked like Greaves had seen an opportunity to hitch a ride on your good work, for their own gain.

Incidentally. I had a look and whilst I can't fault your effort and passion in helping the club, I find the suggestion of Covid & 19 as a name & number on the back of a jersey and one of the most bizarre and frankly tasteless things I've seen in red & yellow. And I watched Sean Kilgannon!

Yes - the day expectations aren’t high, is the day the club ceases to exist. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. Yes, expectations are high, (The same at Falkirk I’d imagine) but that doesn’t mean we’ll win anything. We can be hopeful though.

I expect us to be in a battle for top spot. If we aren't, we should just close down.

Then again, I expected McCall to be able to get one win in 2020 with his own signings. We didn't, and because of that, we are where we are.

We have had a revolving door for years now regarding players coming and going as I said before the club needs stability now more than ever  I have supported the club for over 50 years and have never known so much hatred  towards a board .i am certainly not a miss low  fan  and I get the impression that some people are hoping that thistle fail to say I told you so let’s get behind the team  now more than  ever .yes expectations are high we have a good manager and on paper a good squad the only way is up.

Really? Were you there during the Cowan/Hughes era? If you think this is the worst you've seen in 50 years I'd say you're rewriting history.

I don't think any fan wants Thistle to fail. Especially, just so they can say I told you so.

For three years the mantra has been repeated ad nauseum. The team need us more than ever.... Two points. They had us more than ever for three years and let the fans down. Secondly, if they need us that badly, they are fucked during a reduced capacity socially distanced season. How can they possibly compete without us?

Of course expectations are high. People still don't seem to get it. We are in the fucking third tier of Scottish football playing teams in towns that don't even have a train station!

    season ticket info released.

I'm tempted at the price for a renewal but I'd rather just get a home live streaming pass if that's a similarly priced option, didn't see that as a guarantee just that you can pro rata a partial refund if you can't get to Firhill due to guidelines. I only go on my lonesome so would feel a bit shite if the distancing requirements at Firhill meant I'd done a household out of a ticket.

I have absolutely no interest in setting foot in Firhill whilst our current Board are in charge. Every penny they get, is a pat on the back for them. It's a message of support that everything is great.

Some of our signings in the last3 seasons just haven’t cut it here’s hoping we have the right balance this season both physical and mentally prepared to start climbing the leagues again  I think the jury’s still out regarding miss low, time will tell meantime let’s just concentrate on firs team matters

Why should we just concentrate on first team matters?

There's a "fan ownership" change supposedly going through that merits scrutiny and you're telling folk, don't look over there at that, look over here, at the first team, where there's nothing happening.

Totally agree. If the first meeting in the Alan Rough suite is anything to go by, this has got disaster written all over it and the future of the club will be seriously in doubt.

Ironically all those involved, who wanted Fan Ownership in its truest form, have been diluted out the process by "The Club".

What was TfE got diluted and became the Working Group. The Working Group is now getting diluted to become the Next Steps group. Which will included some Working Group members, some fans, some groups (god knows what that means) and some shareholders.

Maybe TfE shouldn't have taken the short cut and bent over for the Weir coin, at the first time of asking.

For a bunch of guys who literally never stopped going on about fan ownership, it's incredible how silent all the original TfE supporters are.

  11. If I could be fucked, I'd lay into that abomination of a statement on fan ownership and spell it out for what it is

But what's the point. Criticise anything and it's seen as an attack, that you are a bully. We have such a brainwashed support. Allowing themselves to be played. In the history of fan ownership in Scottish football, this is destined to go down in history as how not to do it. It would be embarrassing if it wasn't so unsurprising.

Don't think anyone is suggesting Sneddon doesn't deserve a chance. Nor is anyone suggesting that a Rangers player SHOULD automatically be starting.

However, people are making a point that it is unlikely they have loaned us a young goalkeeper without some assurances of game time.

Purely guesswork obviously but I don't think you've grasped the point people are making.

    Oh I have.

  13. 39 minutes ago, Skyline Drifter said:

Goalkeepers are a bit different though. They never get sub use so they arent normally loaned unless there is a reasonable expectation they will actually play.

I have absolutely no doubt he is there to compete with Sneddon. What I take issue with is the fucking wet blanket attitude that seems to be seeping through our support. We have a more than capable goalkeeper. Who many would argue to this day was unfairly treated and dropped from the team at the expensive of a bombscare. He has merited and deserves to start the season as No.1.

Suddenly it's a rangers player and it's, oh he'll be straight into the starting 11. Let's not upset rangers and the gentleman's agreement we have to pap Sneddon back on the bench... what with their history of loaning world beaters, to us, how could we survive without rangers.

My point is more directed at the soft as shite fanbase we have. So devoid of pride or strength.

    Obviously not.

But there is generally an agreement on playing time with these things. If, for example, Rangers have sent him here with the expectation of playing first team football, then our relationship with their management team might sour and stop them from sending anyone else if he isnt getting games.

Given that McCall loves an Old Firm loanee, I would imagine he'll be under a bit of pressure to make him his number 1. Obvisouly if he comes in and proves to be shite after a few games, then thats a different story.

McCall's relationship with his drinking buddies would sour because we are not playing an old firm player?

How does it become a different story? How would that happen, exactly?

It turns out he's shite, McCall goes back to Gerrard, tells him he's shite and Gerrard says ok, rip up that agreement on playing time, we don't expect him to play every week now, don't worry our relationship hasn't soured, we'll continue to give you players on loan.

Substitute Falkirk for Thistle and this could well have been posted on our page.

Does your support have some weird Cult who lap up every ounce of shite your Board puts out

One fan recently told me we should celebrate having a Chairman who is finally open with the fans, whilst defending her use of Private DMs with fans. A fanbase that doesn't get irony!!!
