  1. John Nelms in his 'tell all' interview last week stated:

'I think within the group, it’s been fine. Everybody is professional. Honestly, there has been no animosity on the phone calls. Any time we run through anything like this, tensions run high and people say things and do things. For the most part, it’s just business and forgivable and off you go. There may have been one or two things that were done that will be more difficult for people to let go but, hopefully, we can all focus for the proper greater good of the game.'

So that pretty much refutes Rangers 'evidence'.

I think the opposite. I think over the years he's displayed a far more nuanced approach to covering Scottish football than most.

His coverage of the various scandals around Rangers has been interesting, even if I don't always agree with him. He's certainly less dogmatic than many we are subjected to.

On certain issues some people get a blind spot. I generally like Michael Stewart's work, for example, but found his coverage of Craig Levein as Hearts manager to be very annoying, even though I agreed with him.

You might disagree with English on this issue, but I think we'd be better off if more of the journalists covering Scottish football were like him.

I think this incident has proven that's not the case tbh.

  3. If you don't want to click on the Sun website, here's an apparent rundown:

    • Gers accuse chief executive Neil Doncaster of holding back key information from clubs and being ‘the guiding hand’ who determined the league’s actions.

    • They claim the SPFL could be liable for up to £10million in refunds to broadcasters by ending the season prematurely.

    • Gers say Doncaster suggested the SPFL handed over a sponsorship deal to Sky Sports which was significantly below the league’s market value.

    • They question why SPFL lawyer Rod McKenzie issued four ‘cease and desist’ requests to Ibrox chairman Douglas Park - insisting he blocked their bid for a new resolution.

    • They query a letter sent to UEFA outlining how Scotland’s clubs wanted the season over before any vote had taken place.

    • And they insist there are still unanswered questions on why Dundee performed a voting U-turn.

I didn't hear it last week at all, no.

But he's been working in Scotland for years and I think has enough in the bank to not be dismissed on one radio performance.

And as you're a Dundee fan, could I speculate that he's perhaps been critical of your club recently?

Err... no. If someone consistently makes a fool of themself via their article and then on the radio, they deserve to be called out on the matter. Particularly when they are intent on doubling down at every possible opportunity.

Don't think he's mentioned Dundee at all as far as I can recall. But if you want to get into club partisan-ism, then it's fairly obvious why you're defending him.

    I don't think that's true.

I've heard him be fiercely critical of Rangers on some issues, while very positive about them on others. Same with Hearts.

I can't really remember much about what he's said about other clubs. I don't write it down. But he's always struck me as reasonably fair.

Like most pundits, you're going to agree with some stuff he says and disagree with some stuff. Disagreeing with him doesn't mean he's biased or that he's a moron. I think there are others far more deserving of such titles. He's definitely above average in terms of journalists working on Scottish football.

You clearly didn't listen to the Sportsound episode from last week when he made a massive rip roaring c**t of himself.

If English made a c**t of himself, it was over silly distinctions about what constitutes a loan or an advance, etc - that's about it.

And aligning himself with your moron chief. To state that Ann Budge couldn't be mistaken because she is successful in business was also pretty embarrassing.

To be backing this Rangers dossier to expose the SPFL was also pretty fucking stupid.

    He's had a nightmare.

English has a point here, though - Doncaster is just saying what he said on Sportsound last week - no wrongdoing, and everything is fine.

I don't think there's any new evidence in the dossier - it'll be a summary of what has gone down - what we have is a difference of opinion - if rangers' legal advisors think there's a case, it'll go to court.

He does have a point - which is massively diluted by the fact he's made a complete c**t of himself for the past 2 weeks dying on this hill.

This is a harder one imo. Liam Smith probably is the best right back in the league and I really liked him last season. However he had an absolute shocker on his first game back at Somerset this season and looked poor anytime I watched him on the tele.

For that reason I’m going with Aaron Comrie. He’s played well in the games I’ve seen him and reading what Dunfermline fans have said he’s been a solid 7/10 every week for them.

Yet you didn't go for him?
